Description
As Mink walked away from the shrine, he felt himself being transported again. His vision blurred, and the world beneath his paws shifted. Cold air ruffled his fur. He now stood in a cave hundreds of feet up the side of a snowy mountain. A vast swath of snowy mountains lay before him. Just as before, Mink felt that horrible tugging sensation in his soul, a silent voice calling to him from further up the mountain. Anger boiled inside him. It pulled him deeper into the cave, up a cascade of frozen boulders, and out into a scraggly pine forest. He crested a small rise, and saw the shrine nestled between two dying trees. A small sphere of cracked amber sat there in the snow, glowing softly and crying. Mink lifted it into the air, eyeing it carefully. Then he shattered it. Pieces of amber went flying and embedded into the snow. A low rumble shook the mountain; the snow began to shift and slide, and an avalanche carried a shocked and enraged Mink down the mountainside.
