Description
Despite what many "In the know" thought about the witch who ran the adult clothing store, Miss Kurayami did not transform people into mannequins against their will. Aside from the odd shoplifter or vandal.Robin had been a mannequin for so long that she no longer remembered what it felt like to be male. She of coursed remembered being male just not what it felt like, down there. Also, except for her mandatory yearly vacations, she even, almost, forgot that she that she started out life as a human rather then sprayed fiberglass and plastic on a frame.
For Miss Kurayami, it was marketing genius, willing transformees put out positive 'vibes,' especially if they liked what they were wearing. This also had the positive effect of increased sales, and out-preformed other witches' "prisoners in plastic".
Robin is in her last year of a five year contract. It would likely take Robin a few weeks to really feel human again.
Although, Kurayami doubted that she would want to be male anytime soon afterward.
Robin would very probably return to sign another contract after her mandatory year cool-down was up, or at least take a turn working in the store rather then being on display.
It all depended on the new girls willpower, and who she meets in her new life.

Makes me think of the Wotch. After reading the "Robin" bit I had to check to make sure it wasn't!

I figured she would, you both seem to have a love of TG TF, ne?
I do too, but sadly I lack your artistic ability, therefore I'm reduced to writing fanfiction and playing gender terrorist!
^_^ sorry, I ramble a lot
Anyhow, I love all of your artwork. You and Anne are officially my two favourite artists (along with Dan Shive of course)

"standard" contracts implies the opportunity for "non-standard" contracts. Are bonuses higher if people forgo vacations?

DPRagan In reply to daffodils-and-cocoa [2006-12-30 00:41:56 +0000 UTC]
Nope, and the vacations are to keep you at least semi in tune with reality so that it doesn't reject you as a Human later on.

I can think of some who might not mind that rejection.. ^.~ One-month trial, one-month trial, one-month trial, one-month trial, etc...
Does the vacation/end of contract/weekend kick in automatically by virtue of the magic, or does it require outside intervention from the owner to enforce?
For instance, what if one of those willing sex-dolls was out on rental when her contract was over? Or just time for her vacation to start?

Ah..
It's hard to think of something 'life-threatening' to something that's not technically 'alive'?

Owner but if they get into what the precieve as a life threatening situation they can instinctivly flip a "Safty" in the spell

Mannequin TFs are unfortunately few and far between, and I think this is the sole 'willing' one I've seen.
It's a good backstory, and the explanation you provided in a reply above makes sense, but I think that 5 years might just be a little long for the contract.
I'm wondering if said store owner has shorter "try-before-you-buy" type contracts in terms of weeks or months, rather than years?
π: 0 β©: 1
DPRagan In reply to daffodils-and-cocoa [2006-12-29 19:38:53 +0000 UTC]
Standard temporary work contracts are 3 months with 1 week end off a month. Also 1 month trials with no time off.
Extended contracts a 6 months to a year with the usual time off.
those with likely 'change of life' or in hiding last longer as the longer you are a manniquin the more your past life fades from reality except those who you interacted meaningfully with (Saved life/ blood realtives/close friends seem to be exampted)

Thank you for a lovely pic, and a great idea behind it, Sent. It's rare to see a willing TF pic that works as well as this does, and once again you have great reasoning and baclground ^^.
Now, where can I find Miss Kurayami's shop?

Thank you for the willing mannequin transformation pic! Don't get me wrong, I love unwilling transformations, but it's nice to see the other side now and again. Plus people I know of argue that a willing inanimate TF isn't possible. People: it's imagination! Anything is possible! See above.
Oh, and as usual, thanks for the TGness in the backstory!

Reasons for a Willing Transformation.
β’They get something from it, Share of the Profits from what they sell of what they wear plus a flat feee paid during their vacations and at the end of the contract.
β’Some want to start over, and many times the form the manniquin takes is often diffrent then the original body, Miss Kurayami likes to use males to females as for simple economic reasons, the lust factor: If a male like what he sees in the reflection knowing that when he is done he can choose to either be safe and go back to being male or become that form, when it is sexily dressed they will lust for either the sexual ideal of the form or to be the form which they in fact are.
β’Hiding Some are people in hiding from either other witches who would do worse to them or possibly the Mob who would wel Jimmy Hoffa them.
Note that criminals who have tried anything against Miss Kurayami usally end up not as display but as merchandice either as clothing to be bought or as one of her sex doll rentals (Although she gets volenteers for the latter as well, the 'guiltless sex' angle)
There are of course some dangers, that is why the transformees fet a 4 day weekend a month, and a 4 week vacation in the off months of January and Febuary (Dolls get August and September) it is to keep people from completely forgetting that they are human after all once they forget thet they loose the 'vibe' and end up a sentient display piece or toy.

I think you have put waaay too much thought into this.
You and I are two of a kind.
I do like the "honorable witch" approach: If magic were real, I'd generally be against involuntary/permanent transformations, the main exceptions being as a form of karma/punishment. Ms. Kurayami sounds like someone I'd want on my side. Maybe not someone I'd want to work for, though...

Anne13 likes them too (She is the Creator of the Web-comic: The Wotch)
You should see the thought I put into the Thulians!
Now they creep ME out! (Thulians are the Night-Kin from Streaking Satyri II, the ones with the Tentacles) I changed their trigger from Viagra to an experimental Chemical Castration pharmaceutical for sex offenders. *Shudder* I even drew a pic of several ganging up on the main girl from the streaking Satyri pic.

Don't know what to say about the Thulians, but I already know about Anne. In fact, The Wotch is the first webcomic I'd ever read (I didn't even know webcomics existed before then).
Come to think of it, I might never have started looking around dA if she hadn't provided a link to one of her fans.
Funny how this all comes full circle, huh?
