Description
Team 3:
Rider : Vanaheim - Alexis Fireheart
Horse: 21412 Gabriel
Phase three - GEIRANGER - NATTVIK
Story:
For the last stretch, Alexis chose Gabriel, although young and not experienced he was a big strong stallion. Alexis knew the snow would get deep so she needed a horse that would be able to fight through it without getting too exhausted too fast.
The last treck was slightly shorter than the last two but it would be the hardest due to the deep snow and the strong winds near the end that are known for causing blizzards.
At first the snow wasn't too bad they managed just fine but slowly Alexis noticed it getting deeper and deeper. Eventually, Gabriel was ploughing through the snow like a snow plough, he didn't care at all, he actually seemed to enjoy it.
Alexis was super happy with the horses she chose to do the race with. She loved all of her horses but she knew the others wouldn't have done as well in this environment.
She was lucky to have this team to take with her.
About two and a half days in Alexis noticed the wind picking up. It wasn't too bad at first but the closer they got to the finish line the worse it got. The wind began to really pick up and next thing Alexis knew they were fighting through a blizzard, there was no snowfall but the wind was so strong it was picking up the snow and whipping it around. The ice-cold shards of snow stung as they hit Alexis bare cheeks. She wasn't too cold due to her abnormal body temperature but her skin still got numb from the cold.
Gabriel being a frostgiant had no issue with the snow, it was what he was bred for so he had no problem with the blizzarding conditions.
After a long cold windy ride Alexis saw a larger group ahead, she checked where she was and realised it was only another 10km to the finish line. "Time to pick up the pace Gabe" she yelled through the wind as she gave Gabriel the command to gallop. He used his strong legs to power through the snow quickly gaining distance on the others. It didn't take long for them to be with the group.
Next thing Alexis knew they were in the last stretch. She leaned forward and Gabe knew what it meant. With his last burst of energy, he galloped full speed toward the finish line.
Alexis threw her hands up with joy as they made it. She was so happy to be done but also so proud that they made the whole way without giving up. There were ups and downs and she doubted herself a little but this was the confidence boost she needed. She was also proud of her horses, out of the 3 she trained 2 herself and they were both confident and calm during the whole ordeal.
She finally knew that she was doing the right thing with her life.
THE END.
