The C-8 Transport first entered service in 1938 after large amounts of civilian aircraft, requisitioned by the Draconian Military, were shown to be easy prey for Keshalan fighters. Originally an unarmed design, defensive armament was fitted to increase the chance of the aircraft getting to its destination without escorts.
