Romulus Experiment Summary
Up to date status as off star date 23/556/22345
The Romulus Experiment is a study dedicated to making the most advanced, powerful and obedient laterals to be cloned and used in Corp Military Operations. Subjects with respective titles following the traditional English alphabet of earth are used as our Alpha test subjects. Through the manipulation of genes and continuous straining testing, the subjects provide critical data used to make the next produced subject better in every way. The Romulus Experiment, after the attempts of Subjects A through D, have found canine (specifically Canis lupus) to fit this criteria the most.
Subject X is the 24th successful “birthing” here at the facility. The previous Subjects were also deemed successful births. We have been under strict instructions that this facility and experiment will only be funded for 26 attempts, hence using the traditional english alphabet to label our subjects. We have been given leeway in retrospect to the PR trouble of Subject E, where experimenting on “pre-made” subjects was no longer ethical. Starting with Subject F we were forced to create our own subjects in artificial wombs, filing them under the facility's complete ownership. Many of the attempts end in failures until a fetus finally takes and even after that, complications can lead to ill-perfected specimens. The leeway was given as to not waste our attempt numbers. A Subject is only claimed after a successful birth from the artificial womb. However, our technology has advanced through multiple subjects to where our latest attempt, Subject X, took to the womb after losing only 5 fetuses with no birth defects.
Phase 24 will be dedicated to push the new subject to its uppermost limits. We are looking to make any final tweaks to the genes after Subject X expires so we can move forward with Phase 25 as our perfect model and if needed have Phase 26 as a stand by subject if Phase 25 were to see unforeseen difficulties.

Subject X: Aging pod move.
Star date 23/561/22345
Subject X was successful in birthing from the artificial womb. Tests and diagnostics were run for five days afterwards. Today the Subject has been deemed fit and ready for the aging pod. During which we will speed up and lengthen the process so that the subject emerges as a young adult, in order for us to proceed to the stress tests as soon as possible.Subject X will not require any pre-implanted memories other than basic function and language drives due to its expendability. The first of scheduled ten implants was successful before insertion into the pod.

Subject X: Test Set Endurance
Star date 23/569/22345 - 23/584/22345
Subject X has been set to his first test of endurance. Test involves long endurance training inside a tank full of H2O. Test is not meant to build up the abilities of Subject X but push to see how much strain the creature can take right off the assembly line. Subject is lowered into tank and set to swim until exhaustion. Subject is not claimed full exhausted until they drown. The subject is then revitalized and set to a resting period until the next day. Subject shows increased activity in the amygdala regain of the brain responsible for fear, our genetic engineering has proven successful with the increased chemical reaction of the hypothalamus regain and its responsibility to increase the creatures need to fight for survival.
Creature has shown increased aggression to water and other clear liquids when in resting stages of day period. Increased restraints and on hand personnel are required for further testing in the reference set.
Subject has fallen fatle in the latest endurance test set. Surgery has been implemented to his two pack paws. Subject showed increased aggression to the endurance test until the 15th day of which he broke out of the restraints with great effort, injuring himself by shattering the phalanges and metacarpals of both his back legs. Subject was released into the tank despite the circumstances. The run was considered successful despite his flooding time drawing up short. After he was revitalized he was moved to surgery where mechanical parts were required.
While Subject X was under we used the time to push ahead his surgery in the cranial cavity. The programing of battle tactics and strategies were installed. Electrical currents were used to stimulate the muscles during program’s download to speed up the muscle memory system. With the multiple mechanical implements, further testing with the presents of more than necessary liquids has ended and testing in the battle tactics test set will begin after recovery time.
Test results: Subject X has proven to out last any of his previous predecessors by more than three days and 3.567 hours. It is believed the subject could have been pushed further if not due to the out laid circumstances.

Subject X: Test Set Battle Tactics
Star date 23/587/22345 - 23/608/22345
Testing in the Battle Ground Simulator (BGS) as proven to be Subject’s highest calling. The programming and muscle stimulation has proven successful, more than expected. Subject can follow complex battle tactic strategies and make split second decisions when presented with detrimental circumstances.
Testing has failed in the involvement of large bodies of liquid. Subject is stimulated by large amounts of electricity before persuaded into following the swim or crossing instructions.
Test Results: Subject has proven more than capable inside the BGS. He has well out lasted his predecessors and testing had been concluded only after a testing session turned to level G with scattered elements of level C and D. The test was thrown together to push the Subject to the edge and it succeeded. Subject suffered the removal of both left and right legs up to the Tricep muscles and a large portion of his Levator Nasolabialis.
Surgery was performed with the addition of full prosthetic mechanical limbs. With the reconstruction of his Levator Nasolabialis, the opportunity was taken to add more modules to his cranial cavity. Further reconstruction of his primal scenes were added.

Subject X: Test Set Strength
Star date 23/613/22345 - 23/620/22345
Subject X has taken more than expected time to get accustomed to his new limbs. At first he rejected them in body. With the proper injections his immune system recalibrated. The setback was noted to take into account when producing phase 25. Subject X also rejected the limbs mentally, constantly biting at them. Electric shock therapy proved to fix that habit.
After subject was back to top physical condition, the strength test set was implemented. A test involving the restraining of subject and the addition of weight upon its back until collapse. Test is typically short both in length on time taking the test and the length the subject can survive the test.
Test Result: Subject X has proven to be quit the specimen, out ranking his predecessors by 100 lbs. The test came to a close after the latest test proved fatal to the Subject’s spine. Multiple Thoracic Vertebrae were crushed along with several Ribs. Despite this expected outcome resulting in the death of the subject, Subject X has proven far stronger than any previous testers and was still alive after the weights were removed nearly ten minutes after presumed death. Analysis were ran on site. After much debate the scientists on hand decided it was worth the further development of tests on the creature and saving him was a necessary cost. Subject X has proven our research in the increased chemical reaction of the hypothalamus regain to be most useful. Recorded time of presumed death to surgical procedure was an outstanding 1 hour 23 minutes.
Surgery proved successful with the repairing of Subject’s rib cage. The Thoracic Vertebrae proved troubling, an operation of this magnitude had not been performed by this sector of the facility before. Experts in the field were not an option due the the sensitive content of the operation. It took multiple attempts to get the wiring right in the subject. During testing, the subject was awoken to monitor its neural connections. After test proved to miss-fire with observed discomfort in the subject, creature was put back under for further workings. Subject’s spine would need to be constantly monitored for errors. Surgeons decided to leave the spine exposed, applying skin graft to only the lower portion of the new spinal cord for easy access. Medical attention would also be needed to avoid infection of exposed flesh. After the removal of the old Thoracic Vertebrae, the Sacrum and Coccygeal proved unnecessary. Scientist decided to use the opportunity to make an artificial set that would act as an antenna for communication and stability. More wire was added to the Thoracic Vertebrae to connect all mechanical implications to the subjects ports located in the back of the Occipital Lobe and into the main computer system located in the Nuchal Crest. Extensive notes were taken on the procedure for further uses, if necessary, in future subjects.

During latest testing on Subjects neural connections something terrible happened. Subject X awoke fully and without warning attacked his operators. I was surprised to see him still alive as open wounds bled out with viger. Security was dispatched but proved ill equipped. Subject resisted electoral encouragement. Subject has left the operation room. Blood is pour out of the hallway. Subject has moved to the observation door. Headline reads: Large fire started at the Local Institute for further Vector Improvements.
The local fire fighters have had difficulty putting out the enormous blaze started at the Local Institute for further Vector Improvements late last night. We interviewed some fire fighters as the blaze began to settle down. “It was obvious the blaze was assisted by chemicals located in the facility. Ones that made water obsolete in putting out the blaze but our man are good at their job and wrangled the monster in”, proclaimed fire chief Mangle. There are no reports of any survivors being found by our hardworking firefighters but witnesses in the night claim to have seen a large lateral canine with silver and black fur fleeing the scene just before the blaze overtook the building. Witnesses wish to be keep anonymous in this report, fearing they saw the beast of death.
