i don't know if this is the right catagory...i'll have to check later. if you've ever read a Clockwork Orange theres a good chance that you'll get this peice.China ink, coffee, and salt

From someone who worked at Starbucks I never thought of that haha (Well perhaps for aging paper but sticking it in the oven is my fave way hehe)
I like this piece, especially the skull. The lower half looks rather unhuman or underdeveloped which makes it quite interesting, and with the clock theme it makes it seem that time is progressing at a different rate. but thats just my take

Interesting concept. I love the way you drew the skull and the background fits too. Only one thing, in my opinion the shading on the cogs should be a bit darker. Great piece, anyway

Very nicely done. Is the texture on the cogs there also done with salt, or is that just ink and coffee work? I've only played around with neat effects like that now and then in art classes.
A Clockwork Orange is a wonderful book. I think it's interesting that you're contrasting the machinery with a skull as opposed to living organic manner; it makes the ethical wrongness going on in the novel seem that much more oppressive and somehow inevitable. Plus it's just a well-detailed skull to begin with.
