Description
This picture is my contribution for our new dragon calendar - Draci.info 2014 (December). Winter scene with two young brothers predators on their first hunt. I was looking at quite a lot different references while drawing this. This pic took me tens of long hours and it was quite a battle for me, enjoying only some parts of the picture. It's a bit sad that I am able to make only about one bigger picture per year, usually for the calendar. I guess I lost my motivation to draw or something. Oh well, I have to work on that! Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy it at least a bit! :]Polychromos pencils, colorless blender, pencil.

Love this, I work with colored pencil myself, It's nice to see someone else do colored pencil that is just epic. People don't realize, but you can make drawings look like paintings with colored pencil

Picture drawn with coloured pencils can be very precise for sure. But I probably wouldn't mistake it with painting

I'm always impressed by your full detailed drawings! I really liked the 'First Flight' pictures but this one is awesome as well!
All those details on the dragons and also the background are just breathtaking. I love it how you draw the scales. They look storng and realistic but not heavy, so the dragons really can fly fast and hunt that little fawn ( poor lill thing xD). I also love it how detailed you've drawn the mouth of both dragons. Love that theeth xD
Great job with the design and the blue eyes as well. Besides You did just awesome with the stones and rocks. I'm really jealous about your rock/stone style xD ( still have problem to color them). Also the trees and the forest in front of the mountains are very well done. Light and shadings are set very well and let the picture looks even more realistic. What i'm talking, it looks like a photography, really ;_;
But the most impressiv thing is that the whole picture is drawn without linearts. I love that so much on your pictures ^-^

About those rocks I can only recommend using good photo references. Do not try to think them up, that ends terribly (at least for me XD).
Those pictures don't have linearts in the true sense of the word. But there are some pencil lines I am adding at the end of drawing, to create few details and increase the contrast between some areas.

Beautiful. I feel bad for the deer but it gives a reason for the piece. I love the colors and the fur on the dragons. Different but with where they live it all makes sense. The snow is so lovely. Amazing work.
