Description
Art byThis is yet another character I recently made (I know, I'm getting an awful lot of them); her name's Amara and she's an Absol goddess whose dominion is art, and she's showing off what that means by drawing a dragon into existence while being huge for no other reason than she wants to.
And yes, before you ask, she IS a shameless ripoff of Amaterasu from Okami.
Now, if you'll indulge me a bit:
"Being an artist is hard at times. It’s not that any artists hate what they are or what they do, it’s just that every artist has those moment where, when they look at the blank paper/canvas/whatever surface they use to express their innermost personality, they find themselves utterly lacking in ideas.
That’s the part of that no artist ever talks about when they’re asked about what they do. It’s the ugly truth that there are times when you’re lacking in ideas or are just incapable of putting your incredible thoughts into something as so mundane as a simple two dimensional surface. Either a creative block, or a creative overload; there’s always a time when something prevents you from doing what you love.
That’s were I come in.
I’ll be your muse, I’ll be the one who helps you pick through that confusing mess of ideas spinning through your head. I can’t stress this enough: I want to help you; hell, it’s almost a psychological need with me. Okay, that makes it sound like what I do is a drug with me, it’s not like that really; but it is something that I will do everything within my (rather considerable if I can get away with tooting my own horn) power to make sure that you can be the artist you’re capable of. You want me to pose for you, I’ll pose for you; you want the lighting different, I’ll sketch the sun into a different angle; you want something utterly nuts and over the top, I’ll strip naked and sketch myself big enough to stick the planet in my cleavage and let you draw that from the inside view.
No, I’m not exaggerating there; yes, I WILL go even bigger if it’ll get you to draw something.
The point is, I’m very invested in getting you to draw. Or sketch, or paint, or whatever it is you do; I really don’t care if it’s just chalk on the sidewalk, art is art and should be expressed no matter what.
I’ve been a muse a lot of times, it’s actually surprisingly fun. A lot of beings like me do it; it’s fun to watch your interpretations of what we look like at the time. Plus, it counts as praise; meaning that we get more out of it than we could ever give back. Not that most of us don’t at least try; in my case, I make sure that you’ll always have a muse on ‘speed dial’, as it were. I know when an artist suffers from these blocks, I’m usually standing by with a sledgehammer to make sure those blocks go away; if I can inspire them to make even just one drawing on their own, then I’ve done the right thing and paid back a fraction of the debt of your praise.
My name? Oh, it’s far too many syllables to pronounce in any language; most of them don’t even have a translation into mortal languages is actually. Just call me ‘Amara’; I like that name. And give me a call if you ever need some... inspiration."
