Reproduction and Maturation:
Orients reproduce via eggs. When an egg is laid it is a solid grey and the hatchling will be the same color as the shell until they begin to grow into their element. When it comes to traits a hatchling will have only the beginnings of their special traits visible when they first hatch, otherwise they only display the basic anatomy. The elements of the parents do not have much effect on the element of the young one.
An Orient is most vulnerable as an egg since once they hatch their magic is strong enough to protect them from almost any illness or injury that would kill anything else.
Some Orients will stay with the egg only until it hatches then leave the hatchling to fend for itself, while others will raise the young Orient to full maturity, or some will even just leave the egg somewhere and see what fate decides.
Once an Orient has reached full maturity, about 20 years, they will then seem to stop aging from then on. No Orient has ever been known to die from old age.
