Why the iron plates? Easy: they work as protection against any foes she may encounter. Most of her armor plates are attached to her body, but the ones around her forearms, shins, and tail have been embedded into her skin. Sure, it may seem uncomfortable, but she actually grew use to those. The pieces were embedded into her skin using heat. Yes, she literally put the pieces of armor on, while they were still scalding hot; it hurt like hell at first, but as she heals, the pieces became part of her body

As for her abilities, they are named with Viking & Nordic words.

And just like a Viking, she has grown accustomed to traveling through cold areas

And also, her massive breasts are covered my two Viking shields, held together by an extremely strong rope
