Part of my series for my Senior Year. This piece took a looooong time to draw (it's 18x24''). The theme is about cultural diffusion, how ideas and beliefs from different places spread throughout the world via literature, art, trade, the media. I chose to draw Aspidochelones, giant turtles, because you see them in Medieval bestiaries as well as Eastern mythology and some Norse mythology as well, one of the many stories and figures that have been shared for centuries.
