Some more pirates from the crew! VERY sloppy coloring!

Seward - Seward is the cook. So, what should be painfully obvious from this, is that he's in charge of the food on the ship. What might be less obvious is his job is less about making food good and more about making it edible. At sea with no refrigeration available, food spoils quickly. Part of the cook's job is maintaining the food for as long as possible, and then making what's spoiled edible should worse come to worse. Seward's a very jovial, good-natured sort of guy and doesn't lose his temper very easily. He carries a shortsword.

Maynard - The boatswain or Bos'n. I know I mentioned initially that Lamont would cover the duties of Bos'n on the ship, but later decided to give the job to somebody who had more expertise in ship repair. His job is to care for the ship the way Lamont cares for the crew, constantly checking the decks and riggings for any faults and making any repairs that are necessary. Maynard is very quiet, and pays little attention to anything beyond caring for the ship. He mainly uses a hatchet in battle.

Drystan - Began his career on the crew as a rigger, and has since been promoted to Bos'n's Mate. He already had experience with the rigging, and has learned the basics of ship repair and upkeep with Maynard. Also gets drafted to assist the doctor. Drystan is small (though not as much as he appears in this picture, Seward and Maynard are both very large. He's about the same size as Wyatt.) He's eager and excitable, and more than a bit of a braggart, but he's also very hardworking and has earned the respect of the older members of the crew. He carries a scimitar (again with the small characters carrying big weapons He's really a younger version of Wyatt)

That's ten characters down, so half the crew. They're all actually drawn now, I just need to scan and color them to post
I think next will be two gunners and the cooper, then after that will be the musicians and the cabin boy, then the striker and the doctor, as well as the main character still to come! Stay tuned!

I'd like to, once I've gotten them all done, do a full illustration featuring the entire crew on the ship (so I can draw the ship too) but it's so daunting to draw a group that big, I guess we'll see .
