“Denali, huh?” she cocked her head to the side, and then smiled in interest. Her tail swayed behind her as she approached him. She didn’t seem to express any fear of him, and he was rather wary of her confidence. “You’re new to this place. You smell strange.”

“Uh…” Denali’s tail waved when she came closer. For some reason, she had an appealing scent, sweet, and almost familiar. It was the scent a wolf, something he hadn’t encountered since he had been a tiny pup. “What did you say your name was?”

She had been sniffing at the collar around his neck, ears perked and her eyes wide with curiosity. She lifted her head at his question, smiling. “I didn’t. My name’s Myra. Say, you haven’t eaten in a while, have you? You hungry?”

He was surprised at how friendly and direct she was, but he didn’t deny her observation. “I am…”

She motioned with her head, tapping his shoulder with her tail. “C’mon. My pack recently killed, and I know where the carcass is at. You have to be quiet, though. Father doesn’t like guests.”

“Pack?” Denali paused, watching her as she began to trot off. He then began to trot after her with urgency. “Father? Wait, you’re part of a real wolf pack?”

She looked over her shoulder, smiling oddly. “Of course! Well… let’s just go. Hurry, follow me!”

Denali meets Myra after some time of wandering his new environment alone. She decides to help him, but must warn him of her violent family. Perhaps there is more to her intentions that what she lets on?

I’m not exactly happy with the background, but it’ll do. It is MS Paint that I’m using anyway, so it’s hard to actually do too much detail without making it look pixelated or something.
