The spring had brought fortune upon Megatron's pack - a new puppy, and this time, a female! Megatron was extremely proud that he was contributing to his family. His son was growing quickly, nearly reaching adolescence now, and now Riverrun remained content at the den with their daughter, Dustswirl. She seemed a happy little spirit, always smiling, always interested in the scents around her, and Megatron could only predict she would be an adventurous girl when she found her paws.

All this talk about puppies and the pack's focus honed on the new young arrivals stirred some new feelings for young Barricade, though. It seemed only days ago that he was the baby of the family, the one everyone cared most about, who watched for his safety. Now, everyone seemed to cast him aside to make way for the new future of the pack. Often, Barricade felt a sense of jealousy. He had thought that the birth of the pups would be a relief for him - he would be considered an adult, and be given space and treated like a real wolf rather than just a puppy! Yet... he suddenly found himself with mixed feelings about these puppies.

Riverrun understood, though. Barricade was just used to being the puppy of the pack, even if he was old enough to hunt for himself. She was gentle with him, and encouraged him to meet her puppies, and she, along with Bonecrusher, often reminded Barricade that just because there are puppies in the pack, does not mean the pack loves him any less. He will come around, and he will learn to like the puppies, but it's a large change in pack dynamic for the time being!
