This is what I could envision as a potential plot twist for the character Vex'Halia from "Legend of Vox Machina" show. That Vex learns her ability to sense the presence of dragons that cause her to suffer terrible headaches. Only applies to evil chromic dragons, but not the good golden dragons. Then in order to save herself and the queen of the golden dragons. She allows the queen to merge with her and is now able to change into a giant golden dragon like Jason into Etragon from DC comics.
