I watched the first two seasons of Dexter (eagerly awaiting season 3 on DVD!!) and completely fell in love with the series.

A friend and I were discussing the series and she said this:
"...Now I'm just picturing a comic strip that's called, like, Dexter Babies, and everyone is rendered in cute chibi style having cute, childlike, sanitized versions of Dexter's adventures. Except Doakes, who is rendered in hyper-realistic style that leaves him three times taller than everyone else, and constantly accusing chibi-Dexter of being a serial killer."

This led to an intense desire to draw sd versions of the cast. Unfortunately, I quickly learned I could only vaguely draw Dexter and couldn't draw anyone else. I tried to draw Deb though!

The pictures were drawn over a couple weeks, the earliest doodles at the top, the latest at the bottom. The more I drew him, the more out of character he became. Sorry Dex!

I really wanted to draw a sd Doakes, but that seemed so... wrong, so I drew him as a doberman puppy. I told a friend I would draw some Dexter x Doakes for her, so those doodles are at the bottom. Puppy love!

The other random doodles thrown in are Vincent Law from Ergo Proxy, and Kale and Sever, two of my characters.
