Description Been a while and I wanted to show you all what my summer project is going to be. I want to start up a new Tumblr character named Solstice. This is some of the doodles that I've been practicing with in class when I should have been studying. Obviously since this is just a doodle and not digitize, it's not final.

Quick overview: This is Solstice the Gamer Absol. Been wanting to do a new character for some time and recently after viewing some Pokemon comic made by other artists, I felt that I could made a good Absol ask account. So here's the start. With still having Scratched Disk and him also being a gamer, I felt that if I were to do Absol as well one or the other would be in the shadow. The solution being that I am planning on making Scratched a PC gamer and Solstice a console gamer. That way when posting via Tumblr/Facebook I can still get a somewhat even posting. Also it would be easier for Absol as I can use his claws as "fingers".

Been having problems with trying to get the eye to look more comic like and not so sinister as Absol actually is. I feel that once I get it digital it will work itself out. I'm looking into the design that was used for Hiro's eyes in Big Hero 6 that gives enough sharpness to maintain the look of Absol, but Chibi enough for a comic. Again we shall see. Also haven't figured out with the left side with the hair cover. I think I will do the outline for the eye through the hair as shown in some manga.

The other problem is the face. I've always done the long sharp face and I've gotten quite good with it on my other drawings. However when I was sketching the side view, I really liked the look of the more circle like look. I'm not sure which version I will keep, I guess I need more experimenting.

Lastly the reverse knees are killing me! Some of it from just picturing how it bends, to trying to get him in a laying down position. I guess it will all come in practice.

Sections include: Front and Side View, Rotation points, head practice, and eye reference.
