Description
Im nobody in the photography world but I do try my best to get better with every shoot I do.This simple image isnt so simple when you look at the nitty gritty. From planning of the composition to actually envisioning the end product. My style is not highly illustrative or perhaps I should say my style has gone pass the highly illustrative days. I'd prefer hyper realistic visions where time and space meet in a unision and thus what you see may be believed to be real.
Take this image for example the sky was a 10 minute long exposure at around 6pm but the city lights only come on at 7 or so.. In the end I had to wait an hour just to get the right light I needed. This does not take into account the actual processing of it which took me another 1 and a half hours. I would have never imagined doing so much work for an image when I first picked up my camera.. but in order for me to present my world to you.. it is a necessity.
I hope you like the image and my world.

"I would have never imagined doing so much work for an image when I first picked up my camera.. but in order for me to present my world to you.. it is a necessity."
That is the key, that I think a lot of people just don't understand about taking pictures. Straight out of camera is great, but even with film, and years of experience, it's the "developing" of the photo that is where the work is done to convey the emotion you got when you saw the scene with your eyes, vs what the camera sees, which is often nothing like our eye sight. For me, I go to a place I like, take the shot, and then try to give the viewer more of what I see, whether it's reality or not. If they like it, that's always a plus, but for me, it's more about how I see it that I want to make it not look so much as realistic(ie, straight out of camera or photo journalistic no retouching), but more a sense of this is how I felt when I stood here, and the colors that made me feel this way. I love this shot, and am always striving for that feeling like the image above gives when viewing it.

Damn! Waited a whole hour for some lights and blurry blue sky. I think you did a terrific job. Outstanding!
