Both are military characters who are a specific version of a fictional character(Jeff Winger to TF2 Soldier) who inhabit a more or less fictional and sometimes crazy world(G.I Joe to a more darker world of tf2) where they're truly the soldier/action hero(of sorts) of their stories(Jeff being Wingman, a soldier of G.I Joe, Emesis Blue Soldier being Jane Doe, a ACTUAL soldier of the war)

However due to the sort of world they live in...it's not what it all seems, first more or less being jailed(Wingman gets justifibly court-martialed after killing Destro from a parachute, but also the act of killing between Joes and Cobra is unheard/never done before; Jane Doe, or the original one was on death row, and would be cloned/killed for the war for gravel)

Said worlds, despite their more vibrant moments are not as fun/nice as it seems(G.I. Joe never seen more adult things and are in a fictional plan of existence; Emesis Blue's world deconstructs the kind of chaos in tf2, most notably the kinds being ressurected/cloned for the two sides)

This would lead them on a journey with a few allies or so to find the truth/culprit to a certain place(Greendale/Slaughterhouse) where they have to fight off enemies, but in the end would outright be on the run forever or when they were brought back to reality(Jeff from his coma, Jane Doe after killing Blutarch)

And both belong to very different genres to their series(Episode GI Jeff to the sfm short Emesis Blue)
