Description
For day six of World Watercolor Month, Simple Things. This piece is inspired by a teapot I saw at an arts and crafts fair and desperately wanted but it was super expensive.
I like to imagine this tea set belongs to Nadasa and she uses it to host guests.
Created with watercolors, and a Copic brush pen. Color correction done in Photoshop.

Such lovely lines! I really enjoy your brush pen works. It's such a lovely tea set, I can imagine you wanted it - those Japanese sets always are so pretty, yet so pricey! (I'm glad Nadasa can have it at least
) That being said, drinking tea really is a simple delight, and as such, a perfect choice for the theme of the 6th day.

Thanks! I feel like I'm getting better at it, though I still have a tendancy to be a bit too heavy handed.... Oh well, guess I better practice some more
Haha yeah it's great when you can just give your characters what you yourself would like to have. I mean we torture them enough, they deserve some nice things
Thanks! I thought it was a good choice too, I love the prompts for WWM, though I've fallen incredibly far behind I hope to get a few more done at least.
(I actually imagined Caleb and Nadasa using this tea set when they get together and have tea together in a garden. )

To put it bluntly: I also think you're getting better at it. Your lines are getting more varied each time, which is wonderful to see - especially because it makes for more balanced artworks this way. If you want to be a little less heavy handed, I highly recommend the practice of doodling random swirls.
Personally, my martial art teacher, who is into calligraphy, recommended drawing simple lines first, and to learn how use the thinnest tip of the brush (and to keep your wrist loose. (Personally, the latter I haven't mastered yet, I always draw from the elbow still XD))
It's always a matter of practice - but I really do think you're getting better at it. ^^
And yeah, you're absolutely right! Nadasa really does deserve having some nice things of her own, too. Maybe I'll use this teapot for the Nadasa/Caleb Magicking piece, in the bg
Hope you are doing well, and that you are mostly having fun this summer Take it easy, and take care!

Thank you so much for the advice! And the vote of confidence! I'm going to have to go draw a bunch of swirls until I can draw delicately (i.e. never lol I even sketch heavy handed!!!!
)
This is almost a year old and I think I've forgotten all the crossover plans we made! Oh no!

Drawing delicately is so tough! Playing with brushes is a lot of fun though, and you can get such varied line thickness, even when only experimenting with them. ^^
Not to worry! I got a post-it with some of our ideas:
- Nadasa and Caleb having tea (we've been postponing this one for two years by now, lol; lets wait until Inkpaw releases a colored version of her own flower boy though, so we can have a three-way crossover )
- Isa and Kaida at the bath house
- Al and Jastin either sparring or reading
I'm sure there were more, but I don't think I've got those in writing - I'll have to double check my notes though

Nice! I'm glad someone was keeping track! (my brain can be a sieve full of holes
lol)
That would be lovely! A three way crossover with lots of flower children!
Probably were more who knows? We have to get to these sometime!!!
