Felix

The sun had slowly begun its way down the sky, bleeding the skies into reds and oranges and the occasional purple. It was the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, yet even the longest day had begun to die as the hours flew by, and it hadn’t seemed nearly as tediously slow as Felix had expected it to be. Thankfully.

Sicherers celebrated this in a very particular way, with a treasure hunt and a paint war to ultimately finish with a bonfire. It made Felix anxious, he knew few of his packmates and even though making friends wasn’t hard for him, a crowd which he knew little of was intimidating. And still, there he was, amongst the small pack he now called home but didn’t quite get used to yet. There, he saw a few known faces. Ignatius, Dutch, Odette, Wesley… and the golden lady. A lazy smirk curled the right half of his maw at the sight of the latter.

“Ah, if it isn’t our new hunter.” The merle padded closer to her, his signature smile plastered on his face as it always was. He had to admit, she was looking quite beautiful just sitting there, alone, with the sun on her back. She looked even more golden. “You’re looking quite unexcited for the war paint… though so am I.” It was true, the fact that his trust wasn’t hard to gain, but at this point he felt comfortable enough with the female, the first packmate he’d met. He raised a brow, and joked lightly, “Should we skip it?”

Dorado

Dorado was quiet, yet excited--with the beautiful setting and light breeze. This entire moment was quite enjoyable, in addition... It was the first solstice she got to experience with her new pack. Nonetheless she was curious, or more likely unsure about the war paint. After all, she was quite tired of it. By now she had already passed the members once or twice, although never had a closer interaction with them besides Duke. And for the golden orbed female, the day went along fast... The sun was setting before she knew noticed.

As it settled, she noticed the merle collie--he seemed.... Anxious? How strange-the male came off as rather outgoing, but there he was--the star giving shining on him. She smiled, feeling flustered "the hell" she thought and looked away, hoping he didn't see her staring. Foot steps were heard- she knew the mutt was headed towards her.

Perking her ears at his voice, it sounded enthusiastic. More than he looked at first. Felix was smiling, all jolly. The hound couldn't help but grin at the sight of him. And although he was right, were they even allowed to ditch the rest? "are you serious?" she asked with a chuckle, there was a clear amusement in her voice. As it seemed like a joke... However was she really a rule follower? Her maw grinned "sure why not" she added quickly, with her eyes shining-, reflecting the male's.

The fact that the golden lady had been staring at him didn’t catch him off-guard. It was just the effect he had in other dogs, he was vain enough to think. But he didn’t have time to give it much thought. Instead, any other feelings were quickly swept away by surprise - Dorado had in fact agreed to what he had proposed.

Felix hadn’t thought about skipping it seriously, it had just been a joke, but now the idea was beginning to grow on him fast. Besides, Dorado seemed excited about it, her eyes like two gleaming orbs of liquid gold. It was either backing on what he had proposed, or skipping the paint war with his, perhaps, new friend. There wasn’t much deciding to be done. “It’s settled, then.” He said that nonchalantly, as if he didn’t care whether they might get into trouble or not. He didn’t think they would, anyway.

It only took a second for him to get on his paws like a lightning bolt. There was a bit of a crunch as a few pine needles complained under his weight, but he gave them no thought. Instead he looked back at Dora with his half smirk and all his usual brazen demeanor. “You gonna lead the way or what?”

Ayyy this is a collab with the amazzzzing Celka!! She did the characters and I did the background and the shading!! I had such a blast with this, Celka is amazing with anatomy and expressions and she drew my boy sooo perfectly! I love these two and their dynamic, so happy with the result c:
