Official reference of Malukai.Forgot to upload this like what? a year now? I apologize to everyone who was commissioned to draw him. I meant to upload this a long time ago.
He is NOT a dragon. He is a rainforest wyvern species of mine known as a Daru.
If you were commissioned to draw him, this is his Current ref sheet.
He is one of the many Evolutionary splits from the original and main Daru species.
Like the main species, young are born within the waters and rivers nearest to their habitat. Young are born with gills instead of lungs, and slowly develop them as they grow.
Kai, pictured above, is one of the rare feather winged Daru, Most boast a membrane that stretches from the long finger up the inner arm to the body.
Daru can not fly, but they are capable of catching enough air between branches to be considered decent gliders.
Unlike many of the Darus, Kai's subspecies has the large ears associated with the original Daru. While they cannot close when they dive in water, the shape is still very similar.
Kai was one of the first Daru to bring a Cave dwelling Daru into the light.
Cave dweller ref coming some time in the future, I'm feeling too lazy to color it right now XD
But at any rate, they are completely blind. some have no eyes at all, while others have up to four eyes that can not see, but function as great sensors for light and dark. They only have membrane wings, and most have lost their ears during evolution. Exchanging their bulky ears for sensory pits that pick up electrical signal.
The Water dwelling daru have evolved towards great swimming ability (ref coming as soon as I fee like coloring one, lol )
The newer look is much smoother and ba;anced in my opinion,m and I'm really happy I did it ^^
As you can see, he's been massively simplified from his original reference sheet. Now that I finally found and uploaded this crappy image, I can start to upload the other work I've done of him.

Yay for wyverns <3 His colors were mostly Influenced by a Sunburst orange veiled chameleon. It was s beautiful! and his spots are like the portholes normally seen along the sides of veiled chameleons.

Thank you. His long head and thick neck allow him to capture certain prey items and store them until he is in a safe enough area to digest. ^^

The simpleness of their design is what allows them to move so easily through the forests of time. (technically, a giant forest as old as time, similar to a rainforest) yay prehensile tails and chameleon like stuffs

Thank you. ^^ Really? Well *envisioning* I like it this way. If it was any brighter or darker it wouldn't be the way it is now. The brighter fading to lighter and then teal. I like it, I like it a lot. lol Though my favorite piece from you is still Arkadus. I love all of the detail, I am a stickler sadly when it comes to detail. lol XD

That's awesome. ^^ I cant wait to see them when you get the time. I can totally understand that. I'm finishing up high school and looking for college and it is hard to find time simply to draw. The sad fact is that I didn't find time really until spring break a while ago and now because I got sick. ^^ lol I hope you to find time simply to draw for your self.
