say helo to another dnd character of mine, serandite the arachnea!
they're a homebrew race that can hold multiple items at once (including shield, staff, and somatic components), climb surfaces no problem, and use webbing twice per rest.

first drew 'em just for fun because I hate how most "spiderpeople" look, where it's just... a human torso slapped onto a MASSIVE spider ass so it feels so slapdash and lazy in my opinion (same for any kind of 'taur or monsterperson; kara being another character inspired by how much I disliked how everyone drew mako from free x'D), so I went and did my own instead.

then with all my free time at work I started thinking how the child would be in dnd, so a name and class and personality appeared,
and then a pal who liked 'em mentioned wanting to start a game with their own world and story that they'd be perfect in, and now I get to play them every sunday! :𝔻

• the world is dark, corrupted, and post-apocalyptic after the past 'heroes' failed... but serandite is happy to be a little light in the dark to counter all that ♥
they're a naïve, curious, and cheerful spider child whose main goals in life are both to make friends who aren't scared of them, and help as many people as possible. which they're quite good at, having become a cleric after forming a pact with an unknown spirit entity, both for the company and in hopes that healing powers would make people flee from them a little less :'3c
lately they've been gaining new primal powers as well, learning to summon nature spirits, speak with animals without special items, and even shapeshift themself! (aka: life cleric with two levels in druid)
the party has also slowly been teaching them to read and sometimes even be suspicious of people. an impressive feat
• they don't have nearly as much memory of wandering the wilds before encountering their current group of friends, nor did they really have a name before their new spirit 'friend' gave them one
• they don't really care what pronouns you use because they don't fully understand gender or pronouns: I default to 'they' but they don't mind 'he' or 'she' or even 'it' because they understand that people refer to non-sapient spiders with that, so don't understand that it might be a bit of a microaggression lol
• they're around 4 ft tall, so generally have to look up to most people
• known for trying to befriend EVERY creature ever encountered (... which genuinely works a lot in this particular game), waving at everything, and happily eating bugs. the party basically adopted a toddler lol
• quite often we'll meet an npc who recoils in fear or horror; thankfully serandite is COMPLETELY oblivious and doesn't tend to notice with their very weak insight ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ all their antics tend to make the people who do interact with them pretty fond, however, and the players + dm all love them too ヽ༼ ຈل͜ຈ༽ ﾉ
