OVERVIEW

A quartet of Robots that used to be humans, Clockwork sits in the top of the charts as to what NSR's Megastars have to offer. Despite their popularity, they've never done any live performances in Cogwheel District ever since they've joined the NSR Label, and are often composing tracks and doing engineer work inside The Polyrhythm Factory. Being the ones behind NSR's Security Drones, Clockwork serves as the final obstacle that Bunk Bed Junction Faces before they can reach Tatiana.

APPEARANCE

Every Member of Clockwork consists of humanoid robots that have a gear with seven teeth located around their heads. Each Member has their own unique appearance and separate instruments, and each member has their own damaged states which reveals their robotic endoskeletons.

Apollo wears a blocky space suit, with white gloves and boots, visible arm and legs joints, four screws on his front torso, and two rockets strapped to his back. He has two launchpads located on his body, an 8 by 8 launchpad on his body, and a 4 by 4 launchpad on his right leg, has an audio visualizer located on his left arm, and LED lights on the back of both of his hands. Apollo's face consists of helmet with an LED Display, which allows him to express visible facial emotions.

Apollo's damaged state has his gloves and boots blown off, revealing his mechanical hands and feet, the launchpad on his body destroyed, his left rocket removed, and the right side of his helmet shattered, leaving the left side of his face in the shape a crescent moon with a visible nose, and revealing that he does not have a face underneath his helmet.

Apollo's Instrument consists of two small NSR branded turntables that have been modified to hover in the air, allowing him to move their positions and angles accordingly. Each turntable has blue stars printed on every side, except for the top and bottom, and each one has their own separate records that he uses specifically for each of his hands, with the Phobos Turntable with a gear symbol on it's record being used for his right hand, and the Deimos Turntable with a moon symbol on it's record being used for his left hand. Both Turntables get destroyed upon Apollo entering his damaged state, leaving nothing but the two records behind.

(Y/N) wears a dark grey leather crop top with the number 101 on the front, a zipper in the back, pitch black shoulder pads, and a collar with pink gems embedded in it. She wears a gray belt with pink gems embedded in it, with low-cut short shorts with an LED Display below it, and a pink waistband above it. She has four drumpad buttons in the shape of a diamond on her front torso, a bright pink "<3" tattoo on the right side of her body and wears dark purple tights with a binary display on them. She wears black gloves with gray cuffs and black shoes with two purple stripes and pink soles, with a UFO located on her right shoe. She wears a visor with an LED Display that covers the upper half of her face, has a pink stripe running down the left and right teeth of her gear, and a "(Y/N)" marking on the left side of her face.

(Y/N)'s damaged state has the lower half of her body exposed up to her waistband, alongside her right hand and left arm, with the left side of her visor being visibly broken as well.

(Y/N)'s Instrument consists of a dark purple cyberpunk-style keytar that she built with her own hands. The Barracuda Keytar has 37 keys on it, with 7 of the keys being pink and 4 of the keys being grey, alongside 4 dials below the keys, 8 slide bars, with 3 of them being purple and 5 of them being grey, a drumpad with 8 buttons on it, with 5 of the buttons being neon purple and 3 of the buttons being grey, and a DS-Digital text display above the drumpad. Underneath the keytar's dials, it has a purple barrel which is detachable and has graffiti spray painted on it, with the keytar itself also having graffiti spray painted on it as well, with the ones on the front consisting of a face in the bottom left, (Y/N)'s own take on the NSR Logo in the top left, and her "<3" tattoo located between the keys and drumpad. The Keytar winds up getting snapped in half with the barrel dislodged from it upon (Y/N) entering her damaged state.

Caffeine wears attire equivalent to that of a male barista, with yellow "suspenders" running down his upper torso, the upper part of his "apron" consisting of an LED audio visualizer, and the lower part of his "apron" being a functional piano keyboard, with a dark gray belt above it with the words "NSR-25" printed on the right. he has a radio located on the front of his upper torso, which consists of two dials, two switches, a slide bar, and a DS-Digital text display, with the words "Caffeine" being printed below his radio, and two oversized coffee cups located on his back. he wears dark grey leggings, yellow gloves with white cuffs, yellow shoes with white soles and a single white strap with a buckle on it, and has visible arm and leg joints with LED Displays on them. The bottom left, bottom right, and top teeth of his gear are yellow, has a yellow stripe running down the center of the top left and top right teeth of his gear, and his eyes consist of circular LED Displays.

Caffeine's damaged state has both of his arms exposed, alongside his left leg up to the knee joint, the upper part of his "apron" visibly broken, his right coffee cup removed, and the left side of his face blown off, with the gear around his head and both of his eyes remaining intact.

Caffeine's Instrument consists of an NSR branded synthesizer with some significant modifications applied to it. The Gold Bean Synthesizer is capable of hovering in the air, allowing him to play it with both hands without having it put it on a flat surface, it has 44 piano keys on the bottom left, a dial, two switches, and two slide bars on the bottom right, six dials, three switches, and a headphone plug in the top left, two dials, five knobs, a switch, and a white flower symbol on the top right, a LED Screen Display in the top center, and a large slide bar in the center, with a thermometer-shaped energy gauge on the right, and the NSR Logo on the left. The Synthesizer loses half of it's keys, half of it's dials, and it's ability to float, alongside the LED Screen Display being shattered upon Caffeine entering his damaged state.

SYNTAX wears a sleeveless shirt that consists of three segments that are separated by neon green lines that run around his body, The top segment of his body is light green and has a visible neck hole with a neon green collar, the middle segment of his body is dark grey, with a green CRT Monitor in the center, and the bottom segment of his body is light green, with a dark gray hatch in the center that has an X-shaped button on the right, a neon green text display in the center, and two sockets on the left. He has dark grey arms and legs, wears white gloves with neon green cuffs, and wears black boots with neon green soles and cuffs. he has a constant smile on his face, his eyes consist of LED Displays that take on the appearance of glitchy text symbols, and he has a glitchy mass of green pixelated blocks with binary on them all over his body.

SYNTAX's damaged state has his left arm, right hand, and left foot exposed, alongside his entire torso, with the CRT Monitor completely shattered, and his entire face blown off, with the gear around his head and his eyes and teeth remaining intact, and revealing his green CRT circuitry.

SYNTAX's Instrument consists of holographic drums that he plays with a pair of holographic drumsticks. The tERRORbass Drumsticks are identical to Zuke's Drumsticks, but take on a holographic green appearance and a glitchy mass of green pixelated blocks with binary on them all over the drumsticks. Upon SYNTAX entering his damaged state, both of his Drumsticks gain a more glitchy appearance, but still remain functional.

In the Final Phase, every member combines into a giant mech, with Apollo serving as the Right Arm, (Y/N) serving as the Left Arm, Caffeine serving as the Right Leg, and SYNTAX serving as the Left Leg. The body of Clockwork's combined form consists of a high-tech box, with a cassette tape on the back, and an arcade machine with a circular LED Display, with blue in the top left, purple in the top right, yellow in the bottom left, and green in the bottom right, on the front which serves as the weak point. The head of Clockwork's combined form consists of a disco ball with a gear with seven teeth located around it, and LED Displays for the eyes and mouth.

PERSONALITY

"You could've made the switch to EDM, but you decided to bring forth a rock slide to everything we care about instead. You might have silenced their voices, but you won't silence ours!" - Caffeine, to Bunk Bed Junction

Every Member of Clockwork has their own separate personalities. In general, all members of Clockwork don't do live performances, despite being the charters of Cogwheel District, and are often busy doing music work in the Polyrhythm Factory with not a lot of free time on their hands. Every member is an engineering genius, and are capable of adjusting to almost any situations that they face without much trouble, not to mention that don't hesitate to point out their opponent's flaws, and how their actions have significant consequences. Ironically, none of the members get along with 1010 and Neon J.

"You two are quite an inconvenience, aren't you? You might be rock hard, but WE are Light Years ahead of the both of you!" - Apollo, to Bunk Bed Junction

Apollo serves as the leader of Clockwork, being strong and hardworking, while also being supportive of his bandmates. He often communicates with the other NSR Megastars though holographic video calls from the LEDs in the back of his hands, mostly giving updates to Tatiana about the status on Vinyl City and the NSR Label, though he has accidently caught Tatiana off guard by displaying his video calls to her when in the middle of dealing with conflicts. Apollo does have his soft sides, but he only rarely shows it to anyone, and he is also a bit of a fan of The Sci-Fi Genre, often spending his spare time watching Sci-Fi Films with DJ Subatomic Supernova.

"By the power of EDM, we WILL bring you to your knees, ONCE AND FOR ALL!" - (Y/N), to Bunk Bed Junction

(Y/N) serves as the cool one, often carrying a smug expression on her face, and having a strong sense of confidence when it comes to outputting as much energy as possible. She's a big fan of all things cyberpunk, and prefers building her equipment by hand, rather than relying on NSR branded material, believing that true art is made from the hands of independence, not to mention that she also has a bit of a liking to pop culture as well. Her biggest flaw is that her pride tends to get the better of her, not to mention that she's also prone to making sarcastic remarks, and has a bit of a short temper, making her the one that gets into the most trouble when compared to her bandmates. She is often trying to look her best when performing, showing more concern about her visor being broken, rather than her keytar, upon entering her damaged state, not to mention that she hates being called "Yin," despite the fact that "Yes-and-slash-or-no" is bit of a mouthful. Despite having a smug and arrogant personality, she has occasional moments of acting cute and energetic, especially towards SAYU.

"Do you really think rock deserves to dominate Vinyl City? EDM reigns supreme for a reason, it's versatile, has a wide variety of genres, and is simple to mass produce. You might have strength in decibels, but we have strength in numbers." - Caffeine, to Bunk Bed Junction

Caffeine serves as the smart guy, often being the presenter on whatever ideas and innovations that Clockwork comes up with, and knows how to explains things as conveniently as possible, not to mention that he is also capable of calculating even the most complex of equations in seconds, with a 99% accuracy on physics, thermodynamics, and trajectory. He has a bit of a bad habit of saying too much however, causing his bandmates to keep his mouth shut in order to avoid getting into significant trouble, providing that it isn't the other NSR Megastars telling him to pipe down. Despite being a synthwave musician, he has dreams of running a coffee shop in Natura District, not to mention that he also has a master's degree in Classical Composition.

"YoU mEsS wItH nSr, YoU mEsS wItH uS! TiMe To KiCk ThE dRuM aNd BaSs DoWn A nOtCh!" - SYNTAX, to Bunk Bed Junction

SYNTAX serves as the wild one, keeping his drumming skills as frantic as possible, and keeping the pace at high speeds at all times. He is a very optimistic fellow, and he often tries his best to cheer his bandmates on when things don't go as planned, not to mention that he loves to mess around outside of work for everyone's amusement. His personality tends to swing from comedic and energetic, with a glitchy sounding voice, to serious and cruel, with a normal sounding voice, something that he makes clear to Bunk Bed Junction upon entering his damaged state. He is a bit of a gamer, and often does video game livestreams during his off days, not to mention that he also likes to upload videos of whatever funny moments happen in Vinyl City, mostly ranging from Megastar bloopers, to amusing accidents, and the occasion moments of mischief. Despite his energetic personality, he feels like there's no one that can truly understand him, which explains his relationship with EVE.

RELATIONSHIPS

DJ Subatomic Supernova

Apollo has a strong relationship with DJ Subatomic Supernova, often viewing him and Nova as friends, sharing a love of space and being highly intelligent, with the NSR Satellite being the result of their combined efforts, though he does state that Nova should stop acting like he's the center of the universe, and was not happy to find out that Nova had attached drones to the NSR Satellite. The other members of Clockwork view Nova as having an ego the size of a galaxy, and state that he is way too confident for their own liking, with (Y/N) often referring to him as a "Gas Giant," something that gets on Nova's nerves.

SAYU and Her Creative Team

(Y/N) is a big fangirl of SAYU, acting cute and energetic towards the digital idol, and is completely oblivious to the fact that SAYU is not real. Ironically, despite her love for SAYU, she has a significant disking towards her creative team, often claiming them to be inferior to her in every way, something that often comes back to bite her. The other members of Clockwork also have a liking towards SAYU, but not in the same level as (Y/N), and can often relate to her creative team, with Apollo getting along the most with Remi, Caffeine getting along the most with Sofa, and SYNTAX getting along the most with Dodo.

Yinu and Rosemary

Caffeine serves as one's of Yinu's lecturers, often teaching her about mathematics, physics, and what everyone gets wrong. Caffeine also has a positive relationship with Yinu's mother, Rosemary, having been a bandmate and close friend with Yinu's Father, and his passing affected Caffeine almost as hard as it did Rosemary, and he has stated to Yinu that her father lives on in the White Bloom Pianoforte. The other members of Clockwork show some visible concerns for Yinu being a megastar, let alone a member of NSR, at such a young age, but also are quite affectionate to her, and admire her classical talent, despite her age. Rosemary doesn't trust any of the other members with babysitting Yinu, especially SYNTAX.

1010 and Neon J.

None of the members of Clockwork get along well with 1010, claiming the boy band to be cheap knock-offs of Clockwork, and the fact that 1010 is highly popular baffles them to no end. Every member of Clockwork has a significant disliking towards Neon J. as well, not only because he's the creator of 1010, but also because they find him to be not only too militaristic for their likings, but also socially awkward, and even Neon J. admits that he's been a fighting a wall trying to reason with Clockwork, much to Tatiana's dismay.

EVE

SYNTAX has a one-sided relationship with EVE, and has attempted to win over her heart, with all the dates he's been with her ending badly for him, but he refuses to give up despite all his failures. The other members of Clockwork don't have much of a relationship with EVE, and are aware that she used to be NSR's top megastar before they entered the scene, having a bit of a hunch that she's planning on taking back her position on the charts when they least expect it.

Tatiana

All members of Clockwork have a strong loyalty to Tatiana, and often follow her orders to the best of their degree. They are also aware of what Tatiana is capable of, telling Bunk Bed Junction that she will put an end to their revolution after they've been defeated by Bunk Bed Junction. Apollo has a bit of a "Gut Feeling" that Tatiana used to a leader of a band that disbanded due to her being too soft, with some of her interactions with him giving off the implications that she wished she was like him during her musical career.

DK West

Every member of Clockwork hates DK West with all their heart, and they have a good reason to, considering that his rap career caused an upset to Vinyl City’s political system, and they were the ones that burned down his car and forced him to quit, going as far as to ban him from any and all performance venues, and they have not forgiven him ever since.

Bunk Bed Junction

All members of Clockwork have a severe disliking to Bunk Bed Junction, even before the revolution begins, claiming rock to be outdated in an era that's focused on EDM, and once the rock duo manages to get past the security drones in The Polyrhythm Factory, they express visible frustration towards how far they've gotten in their revolution, settling on dismantling Bunk Bed Junction's instruments as payback to all the mistreatment they did to the other Megastars. During their fight with Bunk Bed Junction, they mention how their past actions have caused damage to a society that was going smoothly prior to the revolution, and warns them that their future is going to look bleak if they continue down the road they are driving. Once Kilff's plan has been foiled, they mention how proud their are of Bunk Bed Junction for making up for their actions, and wind up relating to Mayday for remaining indie and how they also happened to have lost sight on why they wanted to play music in the first place.

Kliff

Apollo was once good friends with Kliff, with his programming skills and notable intelligence serving as an inspiration for him, but once Kul Fyra entered the scene, Apollo and Kilff's friendship would come to an end, with Apollo's focus on EDM kickstarting Kliff's hatred towards the genre as a whole. By the time the Rock Revolution has begun, Kliff no longer recognizes who Apollo was, but Apollo hasn't completely forgotten about him entirely, and once SAYU's concert gets hijacked, it doesn't take for Apollo to find out who's been working with Bunk Bed Junction, with the other members of Clockwork viewing Kliff as a severe threat to Vinyl City, especially once they realize that he managed to hack into the NSR Satellite for his own nefarious purposes.

COGWHEEL

"They don't call Cogwheel the Powerlines of Vinyl City for nothing. Despite being technologically advanced, there's something about this place that gives off a strong sense of nostalgia, but I can't seem to put my finger on it..." - Kliff

Cogwheel District consists of tall buildings and wide open roads, with multiple palm trees being present throughout the district, and has an overall 1980s theming to it, with it's tiled floors, tall pillars, and VHS filtered screens, alongside plenty of other 80s style technology present throughout. Cogwheel is known as the Powerlines of Vinyl City, constantly pumping out synthwave music 24/7 in order to power the Grand Qwasa, not to mention that it's home to plenty of high-tech equipment, with the majority of the technology having been built by Clockwork. During the daytime, Cogwheel resembles a futuristic city with plenty of 80s theming scattered throughout, but when nighttime falls, the district takes on it's iconic synthwave theming, with neon lights activating throughout, the streets taking on a wireframe vector appearance, and holographic projections lighting up the night sky. Cogwheel is the closest district to the NSR Tower and as such, is designed in a specific way that when viewed from a certain position in the distance, the NSR Tower is located in the dead center of Cogwheel.

Unique:
    - Tessla - Pop Star Scientist (Voiced by Fryda Wolf)
Mayday: "Hey kid, what are you doing here alone in a big city?" Tessla: "Yeah, everyone calls me a kid because of how short I am, but I'm much older than I look" Mayday: "Really? You're kidding, right?" Tessla: "Hey, I might be short, but I've attended high school when I was just 12 years old!" Zuke: "You must be one smart cookie, aren't you?"

    - Trevor - Retired Swing Musician (Voiced by King Kodiak)
Trevor: "Things were a lot simpler before NSR took over... I'm pretty much one of the few surviving pieces of what Vinyl City was like during it's heyday." Zuke: "So... any chances you want to joins us in the Rock Revolution?" Trevor: "Don't get your hopes up kids, I've retired from the music industry long ago... just waiting for my coffee order to show up." Zuke: "Suit yourself."

OBJECTS OF COGWHEEL

Clockwork-themed Coffee Cup
Mayday: "Funny, I don't recall robots being capable of drinking coffee... Wait, are any of the members of Clockwork able to digest food? I wonder..."
Zuke: "I heard that Caffeine had dreams of being a Barista in Natura, I guess "Maximum Coffee" is going to be as close as he's going to get..."

Old Sports Car
Mayday: "Oh boy, if only I had a driver's license, I'd be blasting rock hard tracks down the city streets!"
Zuke: "My brother used to own a car like this one, it costed Clockwork quite the fortune to assemble, and they burned it down like it was nothing..."

Tengah Malam Tree
Mayday: "Look at the size of that palm tree! What type of fertilizer did they use to get it to grow so big?"
Zuke: "Palm trees like this one are quite common in Cogwheel, though I can only imagine what's in the water supply that's making the leaves glow pink at night..."

Old Arcade Machine
Mayday: "Hey, this looks like the Arcade Machine we have at home. I wonder who this "HTP" guy at the top the leaderboard is..."
Zuke: "I used to have the top score on "Gendang Gila" back then. I'm surprised that Eve is in second place on the leaderboard. I didn't know she was a gamer girl!"

POLYRHYTHM FACTORY

The Polyrhythm Factory is one of the oldest factories that Vinyl City has to offer, having been built during the border wars, and has been reconstructed, rebuilt, and reactivated by it's newest owners, Clockwork. Even though the Polyrhythm Factory is the place where Clockwork resides, it was not built for live concerts, being designed specifically for assembling most of the technology present throughout Vinyl City, including the Qwasas that power the city. Not a single human being works in the Polyrhythm Factory, with it's entire workforce consisting of robots that were built for their own specific purposes, and on their own specific beats and rhythms, not to mention that Clockwork themselves rarely leave the factory at all. On the outside, the Polyrhythm factory resembles a Factory from the 1980s, but on the inside, there's plenty of synthwave theming all over the place, with it's neon wireframe vector lighting, and dusk glow across the metallic chrome. As Bunk Bed Junction approaches Clockwork, machinery is located throughout the Polyrhythm Factory, ranging from conveyor belts, to pistons, to rotating gears, and even mechanical springs, not to mention that due to it being where NSR's Security Drones are built, there's a massive amount of Drones that Bunk Bed Junction has to face during their approach, with Clockwork's approach segment featuring it's own unique enemy, known as the "Worker Bot," which attacks by attempting to dive onto the rock duo from below and shooting projectiles at them. What makes Clockwork's approach segment stand out from the others is that Clockwork starts attacking Bunk Bed Junction before they can face them properly by utilizing specific hazards consisting of plasma cannons, electric lasers, land mines, and flamethrowers located throughout the Polyrhythm Factory.

LOCATIONS OF POLYRHYTHM FACTORY

Eon Cinema - Cogwheel District's movie theater
Salvation Tides - The aquarium of Cogwheel District
Soundwave Mountain - The golf course of Cogwheel District
Shockfire - Cogwheel District's shopping mall

INHABITANTS OF POLYRHYTHM FACTORY

Reoccurring:
   - Daphne & Jan
   - Joey

Unique:
    - Mitch - Shockfire Cashier (Voiced by James Rolfe)
Mitch: "Those Clockwork buffoons! They are at the top of the charts, but they've yet to perform live to us since they've joined NSR! WHAT A RIPOFF!" Zuke: "Don't you have a job to do over at Shockfire?" Mitch: "Some kids made off with plenty of the stuff in there while the power supply was out! I AM SO DONE WITH THIS NONSENSE!" Mayday: "Gee, I know this energy crisis is taking quite the toll on everyone, but I wasn't expecting it to be THIS bad!"

    - Q. T. - Clockwork's Biggest Fan (Voiced by Sarah Stiles)
Mayday: "I'm loving that dress, kid. It looks cute on you." Q. T.: [Thanks, I hope Clockwork notices me. I'm quite a big fan of them!] Zuke: "You know, for a robot, you look pretty high-tech." Q. T.: [I know, right? I was actually built two years ago.] Mayday: "Woah! I was actually convinced you were human at first!"

OBJECTS OF POLYRHYTHM FACTORY

Dolphin Plush
Mayday: "Sayu probably has a dozen of these in her closet... I'm still holding out for an oversized shark plush."
Zuke: "Cogwheel didn't have an aquarium until Sayu entered the scene. Considering how much of a fan Yes-or-no is of her, it's not much of a surprise to begin with."

VHS Player
Mayday: "Stop living the past, eh? Well how about you go and tell that to Clockwork? There's hardly any CD Players in this place!"
Zuke: "As high tech as Cogwheel is, there's no denying that Clockwork was influenced by the 80s. I wonder if they still have those Teka-teki boxes..."

Holographic Galaxy Projection
Mayday: "Now that's one high quality looking piece of technology. Why doesn't Cast Tech have something like that? It just don't add up!"
Zuke: "I know that Apollo is bit of an Astronomer, but there something about this that makes me question things about myself that I wasn't aware of at first..."

SYNTAX and EVE Hologram
Mayday: "There's something etched in stone here, "a machine without a purpose; given life by painted hands; till rust dismantles our hearts." who knew that Syntax could write like that?"
Zuke: "Syntax has been trying to win over Eve's heart for years... it's quite fitting that this sculpture is only a hologram."

PRESENTATION VIDEO

Clockwork's presentation video has an 80s animation style to it, with a VHS filter applied over the video, and consists of being a brief overview on Cogwheel district and the members of Clockwork, with the presentation video ending with all four members saying "No Straight Roads, bringing order for a greater tomorrow!"

BOSS BATTLE

"You might have gotten this far, but your rebellion has gone on for long enough. It's time to put your instruments in their place, for this performance will be their last!" - Apollo, to Bunk Bed Junction

The Battle against Clockwork takes place in the center of the Polyrhythm Factory, and consists of six phases, with the first four phases of the fight consisting of traversing across the battlefield by activating rails and destroying each of the four holographic projectors scattered throughout, with each one setting off an explosion that damages one of the four members of clockwork, with Apollo's and (Y/N)'s holographic projectors being accessible in phase 1, Caffeine's holographic projector being accessible in phase 2, and SYNTAX's holographic projector being accessible in phase 3. Throughout the fight, Clockwork attacks by firing neon projectiles at Bunk Bed Junction, forcing them to keep moving in order to avoid taking damage, firing projectiles on the beat on normal difficulty, on the offbeat on hard difficulty, and in polyrhythms that get more complex as the fight progresses on crazy difficulty, not to mention that NSR's security drones are scattered throughout the place, and have to destroyed in order to obtain the note ammo needed to damage the holographic projectors, with single-slam bouncers appearing in phase 1, and double-slam bouncers appearing in phase 3 on normal difficulty, single and double-slam bouncers appearing in phase 1, turrets appearing in phase 2, and three-slam bouncers appearing in phase 4 on hard difficulty, and single, double and triple-slam bouncers appearing in phase 1, turrets appearing in phase 2, and worker bots appearing in phase 4 on crazy difficulty.

Each member of Clockwork has their own special attack that they use throughout the battle, and upon entering their damaged state, they start activating one of the four hazards that previously appeared during the approach segment. Apollo uses his special attack in phase 1, which consists of him scratching his records before firing a star-shaped sawblade towards the rock duo, and upon entering his damaged state, he activates the plasma cannons. (Y/N) uses her special attack in phase 1, which consists of her "shredding" her keytar before slamming down onto the floor, releasing an electric shockwave that the Rock Duo must jump over, and upon entering her damaged state, she activates the electric lasers. Caffeine uses his special attack in phase 2 on normal difficulty, and in phase 1 on hard and crazy difficulties, which consists of him playing a piano solo on his synthesizer, which launces an array of music notes that traverse the battlefield, and upon entering his damaged state, he activates the land mines. SYNTAX uses his special attack in phase 3 on normal difficulty, in phase 2 on hard difficulty, and in phase 1 on crazy difficulty, which consists of him playing a wild drum solo before launching a storm of missiles that crash downwards at random positions, and upon entering his damaged state, he activates the flamethrowers.

Upon entering phase 5 of the battle, a giant mechanical box rises up from the center, with all four members of Clockwork telling Bunk Bed Junction to come and get them, and upon arriving to where Clockwork is located, they immediately activate their combination special, transforming in giant robotic limbs before attaching themselves to the box, followed by the disco ball located in the center of the battlefield attaching itself onto the top of the box, revealing it's face in the process, and beginning the final phase of the fight. During the final phase of the fight, Clockwork's combined form can only be damaged by destroying the NSR security drones, picking up the note ammo dropped by them, and firing it at their weak point, with Clockwork's combined form utilizing four different attacks, firing cassette tapes at Bunk Bed Junction, firing a giant laser from their chest, launching explosions that land at random positions, and slamming their hands onto the floor, releasing a shockwave that the Rock Duo must jump over. Upon depleting Clockwork's health bar completely, Bunk Bed Junction launches their showstopper at Clockwork's combined form, destroying the box, separating the four back into their pre-combined state, and shattering the disco ball in two, bringing an end to the battle.

METRONOME TRANSFORMATION

Mayday: Cassette Tape Blaster
Transforms metronomes into cassette tape recorders that fire electric notes at nearby enemies, with the duration increasing per level.

Zuke: VHS Barrier
Transforms metronomes into holographic barriers that reflect any of Clockwork's projectiles onto nearby enemies for a short period of time, being able to temporary disable hazards at level three.

ALBUM COVER

Clockwork's Album Cover consists of the heads of Clockwork's members with neon outlines and a VHS filter applied over the cover. Upon being defeated by Bunk Bed Junction, the album cover is altered to depict Mayday and Zuke standing on the broken remains of Clockwork's instruments, with the visibly broken head of Clockwork's combined form being shown in the background.

STORY

PAST

Clockwork's origins go way back with Thomas Andromeda, who used to be good friends with Kliff, with his programming skills and high intelligence inspiring Thomas to attend the college courses in programming and engineering, but that all changed when The Goolings made their debut, with Kilff becoming a big fan of their works, and their leader, Kul Fyra, but Thomas didn't see things the same way, knowing well that the age of Rock wouldn't last, and being focused on the more diverse EDM Genre, which resulting in them tearing their friendship apart and never looking back. Shortly after the Goolings Disbanded, Thomas would meet three other people that had the same views as him, Nina Yellowstone, Edwin Conover, and Justin Smith, resulting in a long lasting friendship, and the eventual beginning of Project Clockwork, a quartet of robots focused on composing Synthwave music, but before they could get to work on the AI for Project Clockwork, a horrible surprise awaited the four humans, they had tested positive for a fatal illness, with no known cure at the time, and with only months left to live, with the only hope they had in order to live being by transferring their conscience into their own machines, something they went with doing the first chance they got, with Thomas becoming Apollo, Nina becoming (Y/N), Edwin becoming Caffeine, and Justin becoming SYNTAX, and from that point forward, their past lives were over, with Clockwork's lives just beginning. Clockwork would make it's first debut in Vinyl City 3 months before the first Lights Up Audition with the release of their debut album, "Blast Forward," where they began to obtain a cult following, with their musical talent even impressing Tatiana, Eve, and DJ Subatomic Supernova, leading to them becoming NSR's third megastar in just a few weeks after the first Lights Up Audition, sending Eve to second place on the charts in the process. Sometime before the third Lights Up Audition, DK West's rap career raised some disorder to Vinyl City’s political system, and when they were sent to deal with him, he roasted the four of them, causing them to swiftly ban him from performing in any and all venues in Vinyl City, but not without burning his car down in order to let him know that they were not messing around.

LIGHTS UP AUDITIONS

All members of Clockwork serve as one of the judges for NSR's Lights Up Auditions, and upon meeting Bunk Bed Junction for the first time, all four members develop a significant disliking to the Rock Duo before they start performing, telling them the outcome is already set, but would like to see just what they are capable of, being the second-to-last judge to turn them down after their performance, and delivering their own speech on how rock music has been outdated in an EDM era after Mayday calls the NSR Megastars a bunch of wannabe artists.

DJ SUBATOMIC SUPERNOVA

After Bunk Bed Junction defeats DJ Subatomic Supernova, Apollo makes an appearance on the screens of Club Planetarium requesting a report on the NSR Satellite, only to shortly realize that the Rock Duo had hijacked his concert, leading to Apollo contacting Tatiana about the Rock Duo, and leaving them to their conversation. Even though the launching of the NSR Satellite was successful, Apollo was quick to find out that Nova had attached drones to the NSR Satellite, and was not happy about it, stating that he's gonna have little talk with Nova when he gets back to Vinyl City, before telling the rest of the NSR Megastars to not worry about Bunk Bed Junction, stating that Clockwork has more than enough security to fend them off.

SAYU AND DK WEST

After the news got out that SAYU's concert was hijacked by Bunk Bed Junction, (Y/N) was completely devastated to find out that SAYU was defeated by the Rock Duo, with the rest of Clockwork being confused as to how they managed to cut off SAYU's connection, let alone get past the security, with Apollo shortly realizing that Kliff had returned, with plans on destroying NSR for good. Before Apollo could start organizing plans to beat Bunk Bed Junction at their own game, DK West arrived to NSR Tower, leading to the four members of Clockwork to angerly questioning why he decided to return to Vinyl City, stating that they haven't forgotten their last encounter with him, only for Tatiana to claim that she summoned him to deal with Bunk Bed Junction, causing Clockwork to leave the two to their conversation, but not without shooting death glares at DK West. After DK West leaves NSR Tower, Clockwork informs the rest of the NSR Megastars that Bunk Bed Junction's next target will be Natura District, with Rosemary stating that she'll smash the two to pieces, which leads to Caffeine stating that they won't be putting a finger on Yinu, and are going to target Her piano instead, before stating that if they are going to put an end to the revolution, they'll have to destroy Bunk Bed Junction's instruments while keeping Yinu's piano out of their reach. Shortly after they dismiss the NSR Megastars, Clockwork manages to locate Nova, having crash landed in the pacific ocean, leading to them sending in the coast guard to come and pick him up.

YINU

After the news got out that Yinu's concert was hijacked by Bunk Bed Junction, Caffeine was not happy to find out that the Rock Duo had broken Yinu's piano, stating that it would take at least two weeks to put it back together again, and all four members of Clockwork were surprised when Yinu stated that she lost sight on why she was to be a musician in the first place, and that if it weren't for Bunk Bed Junction, her and Rosemary wouldn't have realized that the only person they need is each other. After Clockwork's conversation with Yinu and Rosemary, Clockwork warns to Neon J. that, even though he wants to get even with the Rock Duo for breaking Yinu's piano, and despite being a war veteran, if he winds up severely injuring Bunk Bed Junction, he's going to be in serious trouble.

1010

After 1010 and Neon J. lose to Bunk Bed Junction, all four members of Clockwork show some disappointment toward Neon J. and 1010, stating that the Rock Duo only has two districts left to claim due to his failure, with the only positive thing they can say to him being that at least he left Mayday and Zuke intact. After their conversation with Neon J. and 1010, Clockwork informs the NSR Megastars that the coast guard has located and picked up Nova, and that he'll return to Vinyl City after Eve's performance.

EVE

After Bunk Bed Junction's battle with Eve, the coast guard returns to Vinyl City with Nova aboard, with Apollo giving him a recap on everything that's happened since he was launched into orbit, and that he was not happy about how he somehow managed to attach drones to the NSR Satellite, where they both realized that thanks to Nova attaching drones to it, Kliff was able to hack into the Satellite for his own nefarious purposes, causing Apollo to report to the other members of Clockwork that if they don't act immediately, they could lose more than just Cogwheel District.

VS. BUNK BED JUNCTION

Shortly after Bunk Bed Junction kicks down the door to the Polyrhythm Factory, Clockwork begins communicating to them via video call that they've been expecting them to break into the factory, and that if they are going to shut down the security to NSR Tower, they'll have to reach them first, releasing an army of security drones, and activating the four hazards present throughout, with the Rock Duo getting past the Polyrhythm Factory's security drones, hazards, and worker bots. Upon Bunk Bed Junction reaching Clockwork, the four members couldn't believe that the Rock Duo broke through their defensives, and criticize the two for their past actions, stating that they've caused nothing but severe damage to Vinyl City, and mentioning that if they keep their revolution up, they are going to wish they didn't, but before they can warn the Rock Duo that Kliff's been using them, Mayday lashes out at the four, calming that they had every reason to fight back against NSR, stating that EDM deserves no place in Vinyl City, and that what Clockwork says doesn't matter to them, which results in Clockwork deciding to take matters into their own hands, by stating that they will put and end to the Rock Revolution by breaking Mayday and Zuke's instruments, beginning Clockwork's showdown with Bunk Bed Junction, but despite Clockwork's best efforts, they wind up being no match for the Rock Duo. After Clockwork gets defeated by Bunk Bed Junction, the four members warn them that even though they've claimed every district in Vinyl City, Tatiana will make sure that they take responsibility for everything they've done even since they've been rejected from the Lights Up Audition, before asking them if they are even capable of running the city in the first place, with Mayday responding that she'll think about it. After Mayday and Zuke leave the Polyrhythm Factory, Apollo makes a video call to Tatiana, stating that she should warn Bunk Bed Junction about Kliff, and hold nothing back when they show up at her office.

THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

After fully repairing themselves after their fight with Bunk Bed Junction, the four members of Clockwork find themselves at unease about the situation ahead, reflecting on how they've been focused on improving the quality of life in Vinyl City ever since they joined NSR, where they realize that they've never had human lives in a long while, and have had lost sight in why they wanted to be musicians in the first place, before wondering if Mayday and Zuke are in a similar position, leading to them coming to a shocking realization that were completely wrong about rock being an outdated genre, and that no organization should be given absolute power, but before Apollo could send a video call to Tatiana, the alarms in Polyrhythm Factory go off, revealing that Kliff had sent the NSR Satellite on a crash course towards NSR Tower, leading to Clockwork making a video call to the NSR Megastars and Tatiana about how Kilff has hijacked the NSR Satellite, while also revealing the plan to destroy it before it crashes into NSR Tower and submerges Vinyl City. Cogwheel District is the first stop that Bunk Bed Junction makes during the reclaiming of the districts, with Clockwork assisting in taking down the hijacked security drones with their newly rebuilt instruments while Mayday and Zuke destroy the generators, and after Clockwork reclaims Cogwheel, Apollo tells the Rock Duo to head towards Dream Fever.

THE AFTERMATH

After destroying the NSR Satellite, all four members of Clockwork make their way towards Kliff, with Apollo telling him that he's in serious trouble for almost destroying Vinyl City, revealing himself to be Thomas Andromeda to Kliff's face, and destroying his tablet with one swift stomp, with Kliff responding to Thomas that he wouldn't have done it if he had focused on rock, with Thomas responding by letting Nina Yellowstone, Edwin Conover, and Justin Smith deliver a much-needed beating to Kliff. After dealing with Kliff, Clockwork would tell Bunk Bed Junction that it's probably for the best that they remain indie for the time being, before making an announcement that Clockwork is going to be taking a much-needed vacation from Vinyl City, stating to Mayday that they also lost sight in why wanted to play music in the first place. Only time will tell when Clockwork will return to the music industry, but after everything that's happened, they've all got a brighter tomorrow ahead of them.

TRIVA

DEVELOPMENT

- Clockwork's design was heavily inspired by TheLivingTombstone and his "Tombsonas," with the gears around their heads being based off of Pokémon's Magearna, as well as DreamGear-Bot.
- The colors present in Apollo, (Y/N), and Caffeine's designs are based off of the blue, pink, and yellow colors that are common with the Synthwave Aesthetic, with the colors present in all four members also being based off of the red, green, blue, and yellow colors present in Sharp's Quattron LCD color display technology.
- Apollo was the first member of Clockwork to be designed, and served as the base for the other three members.
- Apollo's Turntables were the first of Clockwork's instruments to be designed.
- (Y/N)'s design was based off of Callie's design in Splatoon 2.
- The colors used for (Y/N)'s drumpad buttons are also the same colors that were used for her design, this also applied to her keytar was well.
- (Y/N)'s keytar was the most complex of Clockwork's instruments to design, and was designed to be an EDM-counterpart to Mayday's guitar.
- The lighting pattern of the slide bars in (Y/N)'s keytar translate to the '&' symbol in binary. This also apllies to the drumpad buttons, translate to the '/' symbol in binary.
- The pink keys in (Y/N)'s keytar correspond to a prime number adjacent to the white keys, with the grey keys serving as the single number space between them.
- The DS-Digital text display on (Y/N)'s keytar displaying "EDCOM 1982" serves as a reference to ENCOM, a company that was present in TRON, with it's release year being 1982.
- The DS-Digital text display on Caffeine displaying "19:85" serves as the reference to the year the first Back to the Future movie released, being 1985. The words "NSR-25" printed on Caffeine's belt is also a reference to the DeLorean DMC-12 sports car that was used in Back to the Future.
- Caffeine's synthesizer was the last of Clockwork's instruments to be designed.
- SYNTAX was primarily designed to be the odd one out of the four, having no instruments present on his body, and having a color palette that is never featured within the Synthwave Aesthetic.
- SYNTAX's design was based off of The Corruptus from Oblitus Casa.
- SYNTAX's drumsticks were the most simple of Clockwork's instruments to design, with the hologram texture for them being the same one that viivaroo used for the instruments of his NSR AU's 1010 .

GENERAL

- All of the Megastars of No Straight Roads represent a dark aspect of the music industry. In Clockwork's case, they represent how fans of a musician's work expect them to content pumping machines, unaware that they have lives outside of the music industry.
- If rock dominated Vinyl City, Clockwork would've simply gone through a genre change to industrial music.
- All members of Clockwork are ambidextrous.
- All members of Clockwork have artificial digestive systems, even though Apollo's helmet makes it impossible for him to eat.
- Even though Clockwork's music genre consists of Synthwave, traces of chiptune, electropunk, drum and bass, and even glitch hop can be heard in some of their music tracks.
- The Hit The Power Drive achievement is a reference to both Power Drive 2000, and the Hyperdrive from Star Wars.
- The On Like Crazy Kong achievement is a reference to the Donkey Kong arcade game released in 1981.
- The Ride The Lightning achievement is a reference to the song of the same name by Metallica.
- The Welcome Oblivion achievement is a reference to the to one of the lyrics in Less Than by Nine Inch Nails.
- The Barrel Rolled achievement is a reference to Star Fox 64's barrel roll.
- The description for the Synthwave Prizm references Diamonds by Rihanna, and Diamond Is Unbreakable from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

APOLLO

- Apollo's name is based off of the Apollo program that put the first humans on the moon, hence his space theming. His name is also based of off the Greek and Roman god of music and light, which ties in to NSR and how it powers Vinyl City with music. His Phobos and Deimos Turntables are named after both of the Moons of Mars, further tying in to his space theming.
- The rockets strapped to Apollo's back are lightweight props that serve no purpose, and can be detached. He's been considering making his rockets functional for speed and flight purposes, but his concern with it is how he's going to properly control them.
- When Apollo isn't using the LEDs in the back of his hands to make video calls, he uses them for the light shows present in Clockwork's music videos.
- Apollo often questions DJ Subatomic Supernova's love for Mr. Dodo Ice Pops, and is often cleaning up whatever messes that Nova makes, much to his frustration.

(Y/N)

- (Y/N)'s name is based off of the yes-or-no units of information in computing, which are referred to as bits. Her name does not stand for "Reader," and/or "Your Name."
- (Y/N) serves as a foil to mayday. While Mayday is the leader of Bunk Bed Junction, wears a fingerless left glove, plays the guitar, and fights against NSR, (Y/N) is both the second in command to both Apollo and Tatiana, wears two full gloves, plays the keytar, and is one of NSR's Megastars.
- (Y/N) is bit of a gamer herself, but the rest of the members of Clockwork don't allow her to play PvP games, primarily due to her short temper, which sucks for her, considering that most of SAYU's gaming streams consist of her playing PvP games, thought that doesn't stop (Y/N) from playing MMOs to cope with this issue.
- (Y/N) is a surprisingly good guitar player, which explains why she's often "shredding" her keytar in Clockwork's music videos.

CAFFEINE

- Caffeine's name is based off of the chemical that increases activity in the brain and nervous system, which is often found in coffee, hence his status as the smart guy, and attire being equivalent to that of a male barista.
- The coffee cups located on Caffeine's back double as coffee machines, being capable of holding a large amount of coffee, and keeping it nice and hot.
- Surprisingly, Caffeine connects closely to nature more than anything else, and often thinks that despite Vinyl City having a renewable power source, NSR as a whole should focus on helping out the environment more, not to mention that he also hates it when people don't clean up after themselves.
- Caffeine is not capable of doing stand-up comedy, primarily because most of his jokes range from either being very lame, making no sense to anyone who doesn't understand programming, or both.

SYNTAX

- SYNTAX's name is based off of the rules that control the structure of the symbols, punctuation, and words of a programming language, which is known as syntax, with his glitchy appearance doubling as a play-on-words of Syntax Error.
- SYNTAX serves as a foil to Zuke. Even though both Zuke and SYNTAX are drummers, are good with technology, and have a green appearance, Zuke is cool-headed and mindful, and is a member of Bunk Bed Junction, while SYNTAX is wild and energetic, and is a member of Clockwork.
- Even though SYNTAX is a drummer, he is also capable of playing a holographic bass, doubling as a play-on-words of drum and bass. Due to his holographic projection skills, he often likes to mess with people by tossing one his drumsticks and letting them attempt to catch it.
- SYNTAX is capable of speaking Japanese, Spanish, and Malay very fluently, and often serves as Clockwork's translator for those languages specifically.

COGWHEEL

- Cogwheel District is based off of the city of Tokyo, Japan.
- Sunset Resort is a reference to Sunset by The Midnight.
- Hotline Speedway is a reference to Hotline Miami.
- Maximum Coffee is a reference to Maximum Strength by Robert Parker.
- Skyline Arcade is a reference to Skylines by Timecop1983.
- Lovesong Express is a reference to Lovesong by The Cure.
- Eon Cinema is a reference to Eon by Celldweller.
- Salvation Tides is a reference to Salvation Code by Scandroid.
- Shockfire is a reference to Spitfire by Celldweller.
- The Tengah Malam Tree translates to Midnight Tree, with Tengah Malam meaning midnight in Malay.
- Mayday's description for the Old Arcade Machine mentions having "HTP" as the top score, which is a reference to the Hypertext Transfer Protocol. Zuke's description for the Old Arcade Machine mentions that the game is called "Gendang Gila," which means Crazy Drum in Malay.
- Mayday's description for the Dolphin Plush, mentions Sayu having of a dozen of them in her closet, which is a reference to Diary of Wimpy Kid, where it's revealed in Hard Luck that Manny has ten stuffed dinosaurs.
- Mayday's description for the Holographic Galaxy Projection references both the Simpsons episode "Mom and Pop Art," and the Looney Tunes short "Cheese Chasers."

TESSLA, TREVOR, MITCH, AND Q. T.

- Tessla's name is based off of the electric tesla coils.
- Tessla is around the same age as each member of Clockwork, not to mention that she is also close friends with the four in general.
- Trevor's name is a reference to the synthwave musician known as Trevor Something.
- Trevor is the oldest interactable resident of Vinyl City, not to mention that Trevor and Neon J. are close friends with each other.
- Mitch's name is a reference to the synthwave musician known as Mitch Murder.
- Mitch's design is based off of the Angry Video Game Nerd.
- Q. T's design is based off of Magearna QT by BriannaBellerose .
- Q. T. loves every member of Clockwork equally, not to mention that she's also got a massive sweet tooth.
