I did this as a test with my Wacom, I drew it in Illustrator from a photograph, then exported it to PS6 and coloured it in from there, and finally threw in a background using PS effects. Comments always welcome

An execlent drawing/painting. Almost looks 3D. I like the texture for the handle, but it's sharper than all the other features on the gun so it commands more attention, a slight blur could fix that. The background isn't bad, but it's not in perspective and the gun is, so it works against the gun, a wooden surface would add contrast the metalic gun better imo. But still, it's pretty cool.
About the shadow, I can't remember hos to do it exactly, just take the outline for the gun, use the fill tool, make it go black and reduce the opacity, pull the layer under the gun and use the scale tool, or the askew too.... can't remember now, but it's something like that.

Wicked work. I really like this. The work on the gun makes it seem almost 3d-ish. The simple background really compliments the object also. Great job!
