This is the first part I'm working on, some basic stuff. Trying to figure out the best way to illustrate this and make it the easiest to understand. No words yet, I may have to ink the lines first and over all work on it. I have added this in my scale tutorial [link] :> so people can see it. it has great shape referencing ^^ I hope you do not mind ^^

So far it looks good - later you could also add shading for each scale like in the first picture - it would give it a good kick.
Though, the spherical shape is exactly how it shouldnt be done. if its in perspective, the scales and the horizontal lines should bend exactly the opposite way
