Description
Hey there,Just a Mega Man quickpaint. I was practicing digital painting, something I'm not so hot at compared to my vector stuff.
Obviously done in my style.
Should this go into scraps? Maybe. But am I going to put it there? Nope. I think he looks too cool for that.
Adobe Photoshop CS, about 2 hours.

PS: Megaman classic is the best and we NEED a new game with classic megaman as the star. I'm tired of all of this netwarrior crap. Give us a good console megaman (on Wii, please).

I think this would be awesome as a t-shirt. 
Megaman on the wii would be cool. Of course, anything that's not netwarrior these days would be beyond amazing.

I, personally, would love to see Mega Man Legends 3, but I don't think that'll ever happen (and if it does, it probably won't be states-side). I mostly wish they'd do some good old classic Mega Man, though.

I'm not much of an anime fan myself, so I tend to draw everything in my style (which usually encompasses short people ^_^ ).

wow man, thats really cool... did you use any special brushes to get that painted effect, or did you use that pattern to shade like in that tutorial?

I use the sand texture to get some of those nice little brush texture effects. I think I actually included the sand texture in my tutorial, and since I'm pretty sure it's a Photoshop default, you're obviously welcome to use it! Just follow the directions when it describes the texture, and you should be able to get the hang of it pretty soon.

It's really not. The texture part is easy. The only thing that might be difficult is building up layers to make a successful digital painting. That can actually be quite difficult.

While your vector work has a nice crisp quality to it, this one has a painterly quality people would kill to be able to have. This is definitely something worth following up on, perfecting this style could give you a huge advantage in a lot of areas.

Wow, thanks! I do little practice paintings like this all the time, but that's all they really are: practice. It's something I'd love to refine, but I have more practice (there's that word again) to go for that.

Painting (and speedpainting) are fun once you get the hang of figuring out shading and lighting. It's really gratifying when something looks presentable because the lighting is so good.
