Cable has a large variety of costume changes throughout his history at Marvel Comics. During the Extinction Agenda event he fought for the mutant race along side the X-Men to save his team. This is a throwback to what he wore in New Mutants No. 96. The overall idea was inspired by Max Dunbar.
