Description
The last thing I have to do for the OC contest. As yuo can see, I´ve basically kept most, if not all of my initial design choices and they are explained in greater detail in my final designs, which you can see in this picture as well.

Now onto the backstory:
I´ve already hinted at Zaelestiels origins in the interview, but here is the "short" version: He is one of the newest models of assistance units, which can be used for practically any work, whether they are meds, sekretaries, housekeepers, gardeners, etc. Their tasks depend on what they have learned during the training period (where they could also learn many bad human habits, e.g. swearing, drinking, acting drunk and so on)
This ltime of learning everything they have to know has been reduced to as short as two weeks for Zaelestiels generation of units. He was activated in an Avìdoran Temple. The Avìdoran are a type of warrio monks who needed him as a kind of servant. Their Acrhitecture was greately inspired by the gothic period of mideaval times and they are also a little obsessed with the sky and heavens. So much so, they build the first space temples. Since Zaelestiels serial number was ZL351 they named him Zaelestiel for good luck (haha).
But these monks are also warriors and for centuries they fight with space pirates (no one really knows how by now, or who which side started the fight, but well they´ve gotten used to it). During one of the space pirates temple raids the pirates kidnapped the AI in the middle of the training period. Where the monks where, you may ask? Well they went away to attack the pirates.
Now piracy was a little more exciting then cleaning dusty rooms and running errands and the AI was presented with a kind of choice, so Zaelestiel of course joined the pirates for a while, But his programming got in their way (see the three rules of robotics for reference (let me have this ok? They work and they are great!)) so they tried to force a reprogramming and broke a few funktions on the way. These include the training break, since this activates after the training period and the units don´t learn much else after that break activates, and emotional output amongst other things.
Now during the time he spent with the pirates, which was about one week, the monks gave a team of space adventurers the mission to retrieve their unit and the party departed immediately in search for the pirates. As it was, they happened to find them at the same time the pirates tried to reprogram Zaelestiel and the team led by the Adventurer Yarissa saved him. When he was reactivated and brought back to the temple the monks didn´t like the changes and wanted to deactivate him, but Yarissa bought him instead.
Since that moment Zaelestiel became an adventurer, but is still treated like an assistance unit most of the time, since he cannot become an official member of the Yarissas party (after all he´s consitered faulty). Still his greatest wish is to become a full time adventurer.

His clothes are inspired by mideaval fashion as this is the trending style in the futuristic setting of the story, and the reason for his stilistic choices ist explained in the interview. Also his expression rarely changes and usually doesn´t go beyond a slight smile or frown.
