This pseudofractal is based off the Fibonacci sequence and the image shows the connections between the golden spiral and the golden rectangle. Each of the squares in the golden rectangle contains an iterate of the Fibonacci pseudofractal. The iterations have a pseudo self-similarity where they are comprised of two circles but the diameters differ based on the recursive components which generated the outer diameter. For instance, if you examine the top right circle which has diameter of 21, it contains two inner circles of diameter 13 and 8. Each of those circles is composed of two smaller circles, hence the self similarity. However, the ratio of those smaller circles is not the same as the larger circle. In the case of the diameter 13 circle, the sub component circles are of diameter 8 and 5. Whereas the diameter 8 circle has sub component circles of 5 and 3.Β There are so many interesting things to explore in the Fibonacci sequence and I wanted this image to present a view into the recursive structure of the sequence where you could look at one element and see all the building blocks which generated it in a single image. Hope you enjoy it!!
