A bust sketch of Tathaonar, aka Tath, my drow paladin from Neverwinter Online.
Basically Tath was born with a form of albinism. His mother was accused of sleeping with a surface elf since…y’know…light skin and all, and was executed shortly thereafter. Tath was also supposed to have been executed and disposed of, but one of the orc servants of his house took pity on him and managed to smuggle him out of the Northdark by placing him in a supply crate belonging to a nearby explorer’s expedition. He was later found by a sun elf couple who were a part of the expedition and adopted by them. He grew up with the desire to become a paladin like his adoptive mother, a goal he later achieved.
He basically had no idea he was a drow until he had a chance meeting with the orc servant who’d saved him. She had managed to free herself during a slave rebellion and made her way to Neverwinter. Even now he sometimes forgets about this particularly important fact, especially when faced with the deeds of evil drow.
