Description Illustrated by Sheather888.

One of the stranger dinosaur groups to call the Early Eocene Wasatch Formation were the Thescelosaurines. Despite being close relatives of the speedy Rhododromines, these animals tended to be rather bulky, heavy-set and definitely not built for a cursorial lifestyle. While some Thescelosaurines remained very similar to their Cretaceous ancestors, particularly those that migrated to Asia in the Middle Eocene, certain genera stood out as peculiar oddballs. One of these notable oddities was Neoparksosaurus, a 3.5m long stocky herbivore with well developed forelimbs. Interestingly, this dinosaur possessed unusually dense bones and widely splayed digits. These traits indicate an adaptation to a semi-aquatic, pygmy hippo like niche. Perhaps, like the Chevrotains of Our Earth, Neoparksosaurus took to the water when threatened by potential predators.
