Description
Sandy's name is derived from "san" (山), the Japanese word for "mountain and sand,"[1] in reference to her habit of spending most of her time living in the mountains and at sandy beaches. Originally, Sandy was given the name Mountain Bride of Frankenstein (山フランケンシュタイン San Furankenshutain).[1] In the U.S. English dub for The War of the Gargantuettes, Sandy is called the Gold Gargantua (ブラウン・ガルガンチュア Gauld Garuganchua).

Design

Sandy resembles her "sister" Gaira, being a humanoid giantess covered in fur. Unlike Gaira, Sandy has a more human-like face. Sandy's fur is a gold yellow color.

Personality

In The War of the Gargantuettes, Sandy is gentle and caring, due to being lovingly raised by human scientists, including Akemi Togawa, when she was an orphaned infant. After learning that her "sister," Gaira, is under attack by the JSDF, Sandy rescues her, but does so non-violently, refusing to fight back against the military. Sandy tries to keep Gaira safe and allow her to recuperate, but grows angry when she learns that Gaira is attacking and killing humans without her big sister noticing. When Gaira attacks Tokyo again, Sandy decides she is willing to kill her own sister rather than let innocent humans die.

Origins

In The War of the Gargantuettes, Sandy is believed to be the result of some of The Bride of Frankenstein's flesh breaking off in the mountains of Japan. Over time, this severed flesh grew into Sandy, who was discovered by scientists. As a golden-haired child, Sandy was raised in a research facility under the care of Akemi Togawa. Eventually, Sandy escaped and returned to the mountains, where she grew to 40 meters in height or more. Due to her upbringing, Sandy became a gentle and kind creature who had a positive view of human beings.

Sandy grew from the flesh of The Bride of Frankenstein, along with Gaira. She was captured by scientists and studied when she was small, but she escaped to the mountains. One year later, she had grown to 40 meters in height or more. She returned to save Gaira from the JSDF, and she took her to the mountains. Gaira started to eat humans, which angered Sandy, due to her upbringing around people. Sandy attacked Gaira, but Gaira fled. Gaira attacked Tokyo again, and Sandy fought her again. They fought in the sea, but they were both pulled into a volcano.

Abilities

Sandy is a capable hand-to-hand combatant.

Sandy appears to have human-like intelligence.
Like her sister, Sandy displays enhanced regeneration, being able to completely grow back from just a few of The Bride of Frankenstein's cells.
