That's it! I tried my best to warn all of you and the people of Shore City, after that wild Gem chase, but all of you ignored in me and you have no idea how bad I'm really am! You think I was the one causing depression and gloom and being so down, but that is true! I would always make anyone depressed and gloomed out, even a Gem like me. The truth is: I never got along with Steven, he thought i was him, but that's not true though! You think of me of some angel but I'm not Steven! I've had it... Monster Nero is the true antagonist of my first fanfiction of Steven Universe Future. He is the monstrous form of a colossal Alligator after giving in to his inner turmoil and colored himself in black (dark gray).
Appearance
Monster Nero is an enormous black Alligator like Gem creature with Black Diamond's Gem underneath the base of his tail. His head is just like your modern day American Alligator, but with medium-sized eyes with medium-sized pupils and a mouthful of sharp teeth, similar to Monster Steven's, but his snout is longer too.
Personality
As a combination of his increasing mental instability and uncontrollable new strength, Nero reaches his final ruthless breaking point, seeing himself as a hollow shell of the death, fear and soultaking nightmare-making brother that he was. After his breakdown about Steven and their brotherly mental issues, it is revealed that if Nero believes himself to be a monster and believes in death (which he is and does) he can actually become one. He is then reduced to a mindlessly feral creature intent on causing destruction out of his overwhelming anguish and on his brothers: Steven, Whitey, Azul, Amarillo and Rojo. In this state he does not listen to anyone and will ruthlessly attack those who try to stop him without hesitation. Despite this the real Steven is not completely gone as enough positivity and compassion from his loved ones can go hard on his rage, effectively causing him to return to normal and be poofed and bubbled.
Biography
When Nero is confronted by his brothers and his closest peers, he is prodded (in a bad way) for information about his problems with it being learned from Steven, Nero told himself or Nero already knew about a recent visit to the hospital or other events; after Steven admits to everything including his intentional shattering of Jasper and attempted destruction of White Diamond to everyone's shock, except for Nero who smiles in a evil way, but not Steven's other brothers, he finally snaps completely, claiming to no longer be the person he was during the time of the Homeworld Gems and openly denouncing himself as a monster before actually turning into one, demolishing the house with his transformation. Unlike Whitey, Azul's Amarillo's and Rojo's, he's ruthless and reckless to Steven's Dad, Greg, The Gems, Steven, and the other brothers and of course, Spinel, Steven's friends and of course, The Diamonds, Whitey, Azul, Amarillo and Rojo.
Once Nero is his Alligator form, his plan is to kill Steven before he goes on a rampage and damages the Crystal Temple, threatening to destroy Beach City and Little Homeworld his friends try to restrain him; the Great Diamond Authority and Spinel then arrive and are shocked when told about Nero's condition. Both Yellow, Blue Diamond, White Diamond and Red Diamond tried to remold his form and feelings with their new powers and White Diamond attempts to connect with Nero using her mind-control will only to collapse due to Nero's hate and rage. Nero soon frees himself from Lapis Lazuli's chains by letting out a roar that pushes everyone back, including The Diamonds, Spinel The Gems, even causing Garnet to unfuse.
The Gems, Steven's father:Greg Universe, Spinel and The Diamonds tried to gave him a hug and explain which gave Garnet some time to poof him explosively and had to bubble him which had to be the only way to stop him from destroying Beach City and the civilians.
Powers/Abilities
Super Durability: his jaws could instantly crush The Crystal Temple with one bite of his jaws.
Death: Nero was able to power through and tank almost everything thrown at him but backfired.
Magic Immunity: Due to his strong emotions and alligator status, Nero could partially stand even the abilities of the other Diamonds, being relatively unfazed by Yellow Diamond's light destabilization and Blue Diamond's pathokinesis, which he definitely can, additionally overwhelming White Diamond's mind control, Red Diamond's pyrocity.
Shapeshifting: Since Nero turned into a alligator-like monster due to his thoughts of being one, it was clear he kept this ability.
Swimming: Since Nero is in his Alligator form. He was capable of moving and swim in liquid surfaces as seen when charging against his The Gems, The Diamonds, Spinel, Steven's pet Lion and numerous other Gems.
Gem Half/Black State: Since Nero transformed while in the state of his Gem half, it is possible he kept the abilities while this form was active and could be the reason he gained the power to truly challenge against someone else and turn into a monster in the first place.
Sonokinesis: After charging himself up which resulted in his brain and eyes glowing white, Nero can let loose a roar that managed to send everyone within range flying to the point Garnet unfused into Ruby and Sapphire while breaching. The attack also created a shockwave that pushed away the ocean, surrounding him, even knocking down Monster Nero and awakening the Cluster. This could be a lot more stronger version of Monster Steven's scream when tapping his powers.
Shattering: When Nero sees a target enclosing on him, he can shattering a gem by getting them caught in his jaws or when a Gem sneaks up behind him, he'll know that there's a Gem coming up behind him, which can instantly shatter a Gem with his tail.
Trivia
Monster Nero/Nero The Alligator Gem is the true antagonist.
Nero's monster form resembles The Sarcosuchus from The Cretaceous Period and your modern day American Alligator.
His Alligator Form is just as big as Azul. At night, he glows in a gray color.
And his other weakness is sneezing, just like Monstro The Whale form Pinocchio hated sneezing.
