Well the idea that I had for it was that since Spike promised to be careful Twilight has the right to be angry and Spike has the right to be sad. You shouldn't deny such emotions and also you should allow a child to feel bad about themselves. I don't think Twilight is out of line for making Spike feel bad for not keeping his promise.
