Krauser's boots splashed through puddles as he made his way through the woods on the outskirts of the abandoned village. His senses were immediately on edge as he peered into the desolate, isolated hamlet. Waiting, he heard nothing. Saw no sign of life. But there was a sense of foreboding hanging heavy in the air, prickling at his skin as if unseen eyes were watching his every move... He breathed deeply and moved closer to his objective.
