Description
Scott Morse did it first and did it better. That'll be a refrain in my life so I'm getting used to saying it now.
Acrylic on a ukulele. Some kind of Sunbird and a Gourdian Finch on the front with a Lionfish on the back.

nice job mate it looks cool, i've been watching your page for a while and i like your painting style with watercolor.
but theres a bit of a concern when painting musical instruments, specially if u r doing a paint job for a pro musician.
acrylic paints generally makes a thick coat and will alter the instruments resonance or sustain somehow.. therefore using several light coats of lacquer would be a better choice and will give great results with an airbrush.
i hope this would be helpful to u, and i'm looking foreward to see more of ur artwork.

how beautiful! i think it's kinda neat how you put two animals, who live in blue environments, as the main theme! neat idea and gorgeously executed!

BTW, I remember Marylin Monroe in Some like it hot (great film) was playing ukulele - this one would fit her perfectly specially because of the birds

Wow, beautiful use of acrylic. The blending on the sunbird and the lionfish is really well done. I also like how faded the scroll work is and the flower shape at the top.
Not sure I get the relation ship of the birds to the fish, but well done none the less.

Thanks, man.
There isn't a massively strong connection between the animals but the side of the uke (unphotographed) is a waterline so the front bit with the birds is above water and the back is under water.

I was just scared people might comment on how interesting it is to paint a ukulele so I thought I should say it first rather than explain later.
...but I think Scott Morse is incredible at what he does
