Born and raised in Riverclan, Rainfall was an apprentice when the war began. Pushed into an earlier warriorhood as a result of the war, she isn’t very confident in her abilities and often feels as though she isn’t much of a use to the clan. She gets anxious around the other warriors and often still feels like the big apprentice.
Growing up, Rainfall never really got along very well with her siblings. Since she was the runt of the litter, they often teased and picked fun at her, putting her down and making her feel as though she were worthless in comparison to them. She struggled a lot as an apprentice and often considered running away to live as a loner or kittypet because she thought that the clan would be better off without her. It didn’t help that her mother and her mentor were very hard on her with her training, often berating her for her breezy nature and clumsiness. She struggled very much through her training and was always made to feel subpar to everyone else. The only one who ever truly cared for and appreciated her was her father, Maplesky, who loved her with all of his heart and often defended her against others. He died during the war and she was absolutely heartbroken when she heard the news.
Rainfall struggled a lot during the journey. She was injured during the war and though it healed well for the most part she was left with a slight limp. Already clumsy and insecure about her abilities as a warrior, she felt even worse with the addition of the limp, becoming very self-conscious around others. Aside from that, she had also lost her entire family to the war with the exception of her sister, who died on the journey when she fell while crossing a train bridge. The loss of those important to her left Rainfall in a bit of a depression that she struggled heavily with throughout the journey.
