I lost all three of my cats last year between April and August. One of them was essentially my animal soul mate. Her name was Brooke and I loved her more than life itself. She was full of flaws, for sure, but she was just the greatest cat and having to put her to sleep was like having a chunk of my heart ripped out.

I like to garden and I plant flowers for animals that have died. Brooke is getting some forget-me-nots because she was the most special cat and I can't bear to part with any memories of her even though my brain is swiss cheese. I suppose that I don't really have an option about what I'm going to forget or not but you bet that I'm digging my nails into the things that I still remember and I'm not letting go. Though I kind of feel lucky that we live in an age where we have cameras at our fingertips because I have seven years of pictures and videos of her because that makes it a little easier.

Please be gentle with any criticism. I have an anxiety disorder that makes even posting things very difficult. Thanks!
