Description My favorite hardware combo deserves a little ad.

MSI motherboard (nForce chipset) - LC Power supply - Patriot memory - AMD CPU. I've built several computers from the components provided by these companies and they all ended up perfect so far.

MSI is reliable. Motherboards typically don't mean much on AMD configurations, but it does provide a cool set of components, an awesome BIOS with support for everything and straightforward drivers (one click install).

LC Power PSUs are reliable and quiet. They feature the obvious big fan, they look pretty and come with nifty features such as built-in surge protection or low standby usage.

Patriot RAMs are fast and pretty. And not too expensive. They run at 800 MHz and have the pretty blue cooler thing. Have not come across a broken module as of yet and they do have lifetime warranty.

AMD's Athlon 64 is, simply put, cheap and very fast. They also run very cold (they stay at 35°C under long-term 100% usage as opposed to a Pentium which idles at 60°C). The speed is pretty neat: There isn't any single task that your Athlon would be doing for a while, they do everything quickly and can be really impressive if running say, things like VMWare, with a whole bunch of virtrual machines (no slowdown evident whatsoever).

All in all these systems I built have a few more features which aren't evident here... Such as LC Power's case, additional cooling fans and a typical Akasa card reader in place of the floppy drive. Everybody be happy with them so... I be happy too.
