What you coulda done was bought one of those lightsabers Radio Shack carries and edited the blade. Of course, I think those things are like $100.

Build one out of aluminium pipe. Thats what i did. Made a blade out of aluminium 2. 3.5 feelt long and only wieghs 1 kilo. U may need to lern to weld tho.

I found out you can find quite a few good ones on youtube. Just search "light saber tutorial" or something.
