Day 122: Gothorita
I challenged myself to draw 1 Pokémon for each day op 2020. I put them all through a randomizer to assign 1 for each day. One drawing for each day turned out to be to much so I'm taking things slower now. Still got a really fun list of 366 Pokémon to go draw!
I used to dislike how a lot of Unova Pokémon are direct reactions on Kanto counterparts. (The Gothitelle family being a counterpart of the Alakazam line) I felt it was cheap and unoriginal and the high number of new Pokémon in Unova was wasted on "clone" Pokémon we had seen done before in a slightly different way. Now that we have different regional variations and Pokémon has grown so much since gen5 I really start to see how cool the connections are. They feel like Easter eggs and rewards for those that love Pokémon and like all the generations
