Yes, the one yesterday was a joke. Here's the real one.
First One Piece colorspread in... I think a year. I apologize for the long hiatus of decent OP fanart, I hope this makes up for it. Also (believe it or not), the first OP colorspread EVER featuring the Strawhats not in chibi form! Partly it's because of my fear of not being able to do these guys justice, but mostly because there are just too many of them.
Also, apologies for slapping the watermark everywhere. I really don't want to be accused of stealing my own art, nor be accused of uploading Oda's colorspread from a nonexistent chapter. Yeah, I'm looking at you, scanlation teams.
And lastly, some progress shots, to prove that I did draw this. People seem to have trouble believing that.

Feh.. You can hardly see the watermarks, so it's all good.
I've honestly never seen One Piece except in older commercials,
but from the little bit of research I've done on it, you really
do them justice.

Finally we get to see the complete Team drawn and coloured by you. It was very interesting to see you colour these guys during the various streams and it's great to know the hard work that went into it. For some reason I am amazed by the way you coloured Rayleigh's trousers, well basically the whole Luffy panel. I think that was has to be my favourite. Then probably Usopp's, Zoro's, Sunny's, Luffy's Hat + Rock, Chopper and then the rest are pretty even. Although I must say Sanji's is laugh out loud funny. Great Job on the Text, the editing and the figuring out who would look best doing what. This is truly your best One Piece spread and it shows how far you have grown in a year without doing them.

Really nice to see a new color spread from you, they're always sickeningly lovely and funny. I think the Zoro panel is my favorite just because the gag works so well visually. I have a question, though: how do you get those little highlight areas that are slightly paler, like the lighter area on the top of Franky's shoulder? Is that a lighter Copic color you lay on over the darker one, or do you use a conte crayon there, or how do you get that effect? I've noticed it in Oda's color spreads too but asking him is harder.

I'm not sure which part you meant. If you're talking about the highlight on the top edge of his shoulder, yes it is a lighter copic. You just stroke it carefully enough to leave a thin white edge to give it that highlight effect, then you go over the rest of the shoulder with a darker color.
If you're referring to the... sorta dull smudge around the middle area of the shoulder, that's from white ink applied with wet brush. Add more water than ink and you should be able to create this faint white layer that has many purpose. Can also be used to lighten up some parts that are too dark.

no, they STEAL my spreads and use them in the chapter release without proper credit, making people believe that the spread was a part of the chapter (done by Oda), prompting them to report my own work to DA, who then deletes them thinking i stole it.
hassle to deal with.
