its not every day i get asked to draw male characters...most ppl assume i dont like drawing them...and its understandable as to why. hot chicks pays the bills and its all i get asked to draw. and its all good wit me cause i like looking at em and drawing em.but little do they know that male figures were my first love....muscles, capes and tights was all liked to draw till i was 12 and discovered the "thong"...GO ASS!!! and everything changed after that.
i like to portray men in dynamic poses and also in dark moody poses...it makes for a more powerful effect i think.
morrigan has always been one of my fave cosplay characters for obvious reasons..and she was just as hot to draw.
this was a sketch for the NYCC this yr done in pencil on 11x14 bristol board smooth

I personally am not a fan of Morrigan's character design (seems a bit too obviously fanservice-y, what with the bats on the tights and the nipple-wings, but of course this is just my opinion), but I really love your portrayal of her. She comes across as seductive and powerful here, and I think I can take her seriously for once.

I can dig not appreciating the obvious fanservice of Morrigan, but, well, she IS a succubus, which, according to Wikipedia, In folklore traced back to medieval legend, ...is a female demon appearing in dreams who takes the form of a human woman in order to seduce men, usually through sexual intercourse. That's what the character's meant for.

Oh, I know this. I'm not against her sexiness- there are PLENTY of sexy characters who expose more than she does, and this portrayal is DEFINITELY seductive. It's seducing me right now.
But the green/ purple color scheme? The tights with bats on them? It seems less sinister succubus and more anime-wet-dream-but-with-wings, or role-play-pornstar (that's what I mean by fanservice, I guess). Almost as though she was called a "succubus" for the sole purpose of having an excuse to make her sexy. But they didn't need the excuse, and they didn't need the obvious "I'm a creature of the dark and that's why my tights have bats on em and I'm here to seduce you, hence the heart cutout." I think what I mean is that she just feels overdone. I'd like her better without the tights, and without the nipple-wings.
I hear her character itself is great, though, but I just can't take her seriously. This is all my opinion, though. XP

This is really awesome and dynamic! Though Dantes sword looks a bit wonky to me, like it's at a funny angle. Not that you can really fix it now...
