Again old '09 maybe '10. I should really start dating my art.

This was part of the 100 themes challenge.

I don't remember exactly what the story was but I remember the gist of it:

Naruto somehow realizes Hinata's feelings for him (I don't remember if this is after Pein or not) and asks to meet up with her one night. Hinata dresses up for the occasion, hopeful. Naruto leads her to a secluded place where he tells her that he can't be with her. He gives the I'm too dangerous, too monstrous, to blah, blah, blah, whatever and we can never be together, because I appreciate you too much.

She tries to tell him she doesn't care about all that, but he still rejects her.

"I can't love you."

He is all cold and emotionless and leaves Hinata, collapsed and crying, but really he wants to love her and so he cries as he walks away, breaking both their hearts in order to keep one of his precious people safe.
