Characteristics: Human in appearance with a silver (western pure beast) or red (eastern pure beast) 'mark' somewhere on their body. Those that where bitten by the Eastern Pure Beast also develop either a single horn, set or up to 6 horns; these horns vary in shapes and sizes.

Details: Eries are created similar to Slayers; only instead of able to fight off the infection of the 'Pure Beast' they are humans who end up giving into the infection. Although the transformation is a grueling and painful process and some humans are even unable to live through the pain - those that do end up waking up as an Erie. They are viewed as the lowest of the low on the demonic rank when it comes to other demons but still are embraced as one of their own. Needless to say going from human to demon suddenly can have an affect on the former mortal's mind as their body and habits adjust to their new senses; very much like regular demons their abilities and powers differ per Erie but in general they have supernatural strength and speed. Their cravings differ depending on what beast had changed them. If it's the Western Pure Beast that had marked them then they will develop a taste for human blood similar to vampires. If it's the Eastern Pure Beast that had marked them then they will develop a taste for human flesh - some Eries struggle with this while others embrace it. Like regular demons they are able to change their appearance to that of a regular humane using magic; although a fresh Erie will not be able to do this from the start, instead they have to discover it or have another demon teach them.
