I had a crazy idea for a Corellian YT type of ship from a sketch I did earlier this week. I thought the ship's body resembled the body of an old electric guitar and so after finding some workable guitar shapes on thingiverse, I spent the weekend creating this. I deem it a Corellian YT-3700 Light Freighter, manufactured by Corellian Engineering Corporation after the CEC was liberated from First Order control. Utilizing some of the plans given to them by the First Order for ship improvements and designs, they created the streamlined YT-3700 model. Unlike earlier YT models, the 3700's cockpit could not be reconfigured to different locations and was positioned above the mandibles. Four sets of cannons protected the ship, there were two escape pods on each side and the mandibles had a newly designed magnetic locking mechanism that allowed the freighter to carry cargo without having to retract or expand the mandibles. The ramp into the ship is directly under the cockpit and a set of laser cannons, with a 360 degree radius, protect the belly. Though it looks heavy, the advanced metal design is lightweight, which combined with state-of-the-art engines and hyperspace drive, makes the 3700 powerful and maneuverable . The cargo hold is about the same size as the YT-1300 and the ship can be ran by a single pilot, but has quarters for a usual crew of four. Unfortunately, galactic inflation following the fall of the First Order meant that the ship was rather expensive and it sold just enough to justify keeping it in production for several years.
