It's finally done! Let us celebrate~Added from popular demand: Danny! There was a lot of internal debate about whether or not to make Danny Phantom or Fenton but... yes I figured Fenton would be better. I'm sure most of you were thinking of something a little different for him (probably chains or something). Sorry!
Also I've decided that Tuckers palace is somewhere in Lower Egypt as opposed to Upper Egypt. Just cause reasons.

I just duplicate the layer I used for the outlines (right click + Duplicate Layer) and then move it underneath the layer with the base colors. Then I double click that layer to open up that menu there, click on outer glow and make his glow as big as I want.

Oh the highlights. Underneath the layer with the outlines (and above the layer with the base colours) here I went and screen-shotted my Photoshop.

For the highlights I generally use the wand tool to select the base colors and then on a different layer I use the pen tool and select the spots for where I want to highlight. You can use the brush tool as well but it takes a little more time and precision cause it can sometimes look messy (so use quick strokes!). I use the pen tool for almost any "shade work" in my Hartman style pictures just because it's the quickest way.

I'm not sure how to really explain how to use the pen tool. It took me awhile to figure it out, but there are tutorials posted all over dA. If you search them you'll get something that'll work for you!

Wow this kind of reminds me of the chapter I did for one of my Danny Phantom fanfictions. It didn't end well for Tucker though.

It's a crossover between Danny Phantom and Kamen Rider (A Japanese live action superhero show) but the chapter that your picture reminded me was a more of a deconstruction of Tucker's more negative character traits. To be specific, Tucker's hinted megalomania and showed just how far Tucker would go if he was in a position of power. Since the story is a crossover and an AU, Tucker isn't friends with Sam (in fact she hates Tucker due to an incident they had when they were in middle school) while only partially a friend of Danny.
However, I believed that I went a little too far when I made the chapter into a deconstruction of Tucker's megalomania by have Tucker make Sam into his whipping girl, made most of the girls in their class his unwilling harem, blaming Danny and Sam for not taking his election campaign seriously while he never told them what his campaign was or how he would better their school, and having his jackal guards try to kill Danny. However it all did lead up to Danny telling Tucker why nobody would ever listen to him and even told him that he was a selfish person who doesn't deserve any form of power.
I kind of wrote that chapter because the last time I remember watching the King Tuck episode, it never actually showed any reason as to why anyone should listen to Tucker and with how he treated everyone, whether or not the specter had an influence to his behavior, why Danny should have even apologized to Tucker.

You should. That's the best way to improve, trust me. (: I've been drawing Danny since... hm, I think it's been four years now? And I had a loooot of room for improvement back then so it definitely pays off!

All I've got for my own (old as balls) list is Lancer trying to be the cheerleader coach (since he's all about team spirit and likes to bust out in his own moves too) you could try that? I usually listen to music and see what I get from that or if I'm desperate turn on a generator and reference off what it gives me.

I stopped after the second of the Omen of The Stars book with Dovepaw and Ivypaw. Things were getting too far fetched for me. I like the original series so so so much more, the two follow-ups were pretty good too. OotS though... Hnnng. Couldn't do it.

Ahhh, Firestar is my baby and now that I've been made aware he dies (by buRNING TO DEATH) I am sad. Bluestar's death was still more tragic. Also Jayfeather is the best of the "Power of Three".
