Description
New yearI'd have written all this earlier
But you've cast a sinking fear
On my assumptions.
Like a shadow slowly slipping south
Over ominous horizons
I'm slowly realizing
What has been growing in the dark all along.
You copy, paste
All that was
Onto another shiny toy
Distort the colours
Diffuse with lifeless joy
And I watch this re-enactment
This appropriation
With a corded stone tied to my heart.
Blue moon
You brought a raging hurricane
That flooded all our tents
Rising slowly as the clouds veiled your loneliness
You are unaware
Of the insanity you've prompted
With your uncommon icy glare.
The flow of earth and clay remains
A sinking mire in which our ankles hide.
Storm, your effacement
Razed my hopes to the watery ground.
There they floundered
And there they slowly drowned.
