I wanted to try something new, so here is my first OTA!Now I'll be accepting art and points!

they gave each ruby its their own style and a little personality

yellow diamonds are the yellow diamond insignia
all that means is that these rubies follow yellow diamond
and honestly nothing is 100% original
Using gemstones itself isnt original
many characters and species have gemstones on them but i dont see you calling out rebecca sugar for using gemstones and not being 100%original
or human like species

It's been confirmed that there are multiple of each gem, so no I'm not selling them. Like, there are multiple pearls, You can find a butt load of pearlsonas and adopts and since Hit the Diamond came out, that there are multiple rubies.
Does that make any more sense?

ok, I guess it just seems weird to me that whoever does end up owning one of these, will get the rights over a very visually similar character to Steven Universe character in canon.
I was also expecting to see a Disclaimer at the bottom of your description that Rubies are created by Rebecca Sugar, but there isn't...

first off its not weird! I have a group of rubies and sell ruby and sapphire adopts they may have similar body types but they each have a distinguishment and difference that seperates them
and also i dont see a need to declair that rubies belong to rebecca since anyone who watches steven universe would know and those who dont know typically ask

People who don't watch the show that do see these adoptables could easily think they're just a cute character with a colorful skin tone.
I see, but (to me) just because a bunch of people make these ruby adoptables doesn't make it right... it just feels fishy to me, as a character creator-
i'd feel heartbroken if I saw my sona duplicated and sold as adoptables? [shrug]

rubies are not a sona for rebecca
and second off rebecca sugar absolutely adores fan made gems whether people are selling them or keeping them as their own
and once again each ruby has a different look so its highly unlikely that someones ruby sona will look the exact same as an adoptable

When people like something and want one of their own they make it look similar
but there is nothing wrong with it because its their own version
if she was selling designs that look exactly like the canon rubies then yes it would be bad
but aside from the hair (which the color is even different) they arent the same as the canon rubies so it is perfectly legal

yeah im just trying to tell you that even though theyre rubies like in the show not all of them look the same
take these for example
they follow the basic ruby and sapphire codes
same body type and close heights and even similar hair textures, but the colors, clothes styles, and appearances are also completely different
so theyre the same
but different
